I know they weren't taken on campaign, but has anyone got a source for British Infantry colours in the late nineteenth century.
Specifically KSLI post 1882?
Thanks.
ML
Might be worth a visit here or giving them a call/mail:

Might have to, their battle honours page is pretty comprehensive though...
Nieuport* 1793 Flanders Campaign
Toumay* 1794 Flanders Campaign
St. Lucia 1796* 1796 West Indies
Talavera* 1809 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Salamanca* 1812 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Vittoria* 1813 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Pyrenees * 1813 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Nivelle* 1813 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Toulouse* 1814 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Peninsula* 1809 – 1814 (2nd Battn.) Peninsular War
Aliwal* 1846 1st Sikh War (Sutlej Campaign)
Sobraon* 1846 1st Sikh War (Sutlej Campaign)
Goojerat* 1849 2nd Sikh War (Punjab Campaign)
Punjaub* 1848-49
Lucknow* 1857 – 58 Indian Mutiny
Cant confirm but am reasonably certain that the rules have never changed, and you would have to research the battle honours for your chosen regiment. The National Army Museum wuold be a good general source.
Thanks Ian
I've found the 1932 colours (Player cigarette cards) and from the National Army Memorial (1968 colours) ;D
Might have to spend a night on MSpaint removing the later battle honours! ;)
I have a set of reprinted Cig Cards similar.

How about these - not sure of exact year but at least post 1845 campaign

My ancient Almark booklet "British Infantry Colours" by Dino Lemonofides, 1971 states the following:
1 KSLI "Red St Georges cross on white field 1877-1954"
2 KSLI "Blue from 1935" I read this to mean they still used the old Bucks Vols Yellow colours
1873-1898 Queens's Regs states sizes to be 3' 9" width, 3' 0" depth on pike exclusive of fringe, pike to be 8' 7" inclusive of royal crest.

p.s. Didn't Osprey put a book out on British Infantry Colours?
from the original question, I thought a source of flags for wargaming was what was wanted. I am in the same position as I cannot find anywhere that does a Union flag that can be used for flag poles etc
Thanks chaps

Great minds think alike. I have just finished looking through my copy of the same guide in case there
was anything useful... No pics of these specific colours unfortunately... good book though...
Phil
A friend has drawn them based on that.

I did one recently for the Great Game.
I took a regimental flag from Warflags and painted out the bits I didn't want.

If only I was IT competent enough to do that, provided the laptop works when I switch it on is as far as my abilities go
