Title: AWI 28mm Bases with 10mm
Post by: mart678 on 22 June 2019, 10:13:24 AM
Hi everyone
I am doing Breeds hill first the plan is to have troops on 28mm bases for British Grenadier in correct formations so units in newer open order and newly arrived in possibly denser 3 ranks? For the British and Americans militia in a uneven line / grouped together and state troops in line similar to British

What do you think and anyone know correct formations for both sides

Cheers Martin

Sounds a really good idea

I used a similar approach for my Volley & Bayonet AWI project

I didn't go to the same level of differentiation so don't have details on the correct formations

Below you can see the well drilled British and Hessians on the left and the very uneven North Carolina Militia

Very nice paulr impressive.  :D.   normally in British Grenadier it's 16/18/20/24/28 figures or less with skirmishes so its battles are 1 to 20 I aim to replace each figure with 5 x 10mm figures so in some scenarios which are actual scaled 1 to 5 I will have correct numbers on the table

Thanks :-[

Those are 16 figures on a 3" x 1.5" base for V&B, typically at 1 figure per 6-9 men

Your forces are definitely going to look impressive :)
