Have I got the process flow of Reconnaissance right please?
For all (unsuppressed) Ground & Aerial Reece Units -
Initiative Phase -
Choose one of following as an Initiative Action - (A) Move: (B ) Communicate: (C) Reconnoitre (D) Fire
If Move: Roll 1d6 to determine number of moves available. Cannot fail - but can choose not to move. Note Move in Command Phase only
If Communicate : Roll 1d6 (plus modifiers) to determine success. LoS to target needed (nearest visible enemy unit- excluding CO/HQ/FAO/FAC units).
If successful : Can either -
(i) Add +1 CV to Command unit (CO;HQ;FAO;FAC)
(ii) Permit selected CO or HQ unit to attempt ordering on-table indirect fire (mortars, Inf guns, on-table artillery) onto target during Command Phase
(iii) Permit selected FAO/FAC unit to attempt ordering off-table artillery/air strikes onto target during Command Phase
If Reconnoitre : Roll 1d6 (plus modifiers if aerial reece unit) to determine success. LoS to target/terrain feature is needed (terrain feature of player's choice up to 60cm away)
If successful : Can either -
(i) Pathfind : Terrain within area template now treated as Open for movement purposes (with caveats)
(ii) Spot Concealed Troops : Nearest concealed unit within area template ceases to be concealed (with caveats)
If Fire : May fire at nearest visible enemy unit within initiative distance
Note 1 : RSU units acting as Reece units may only choose to Communicate or Fire during intiative
Note 2 : Once Initiative action taken - Reece units (or RSU units acting as Reece units) are marked as Suppressed for remainder of turn
Many thanks
Adam
The only firing allowed by a Recce Unit is defensive fire when they are assaulted
Oh right ...
Not as per 4th bullet on p31 or last action in Initiative column, top table p32?
Any helpful comments on the rest of the query?
A
