Well, Macedonians can't beat up Scythians forever; there aren't enough people on the steppes. So now Lee's leading her forces into India. Pix will doubtless follow, so stay tuned.
Lay off the drugs when fighting the Hydaspes, otherwise the battlefield turns into all sorts of garish colours.
This was hard-fought, with the Indians breaking at the end and the victorious Macedonians too battered to follow up.
Well Prruys was a successor
Trrue.
The light chariots in the temple complex were meant to go for something meatier, but with the Cretans about to enter had to settle for an auxilliary unit.
Macedonians pushing forward hard in the middle.
The thureophoroi and some horse got bogged down keeping an eye on my horse and chariots.
The massed Indian archery with elephant support was deadly, but so were a few pike charges into my foot.
Morale was looking unhappy on both sides by this stage.
Disaster. The Maiden Guards broken, an elephant unit in panic, and my feeble cavalry wasted on an uncontrolled attack against a phalanx...Indian army in retreat. Badly battered, the invaders were in no state to exploit their victory.
Rematch today, if anyone's reading these posts.

Well, goodness gracious me, there is being an esteemed and watchful audience after all, my word, yes. My surprisedness is terrific.
Not so much watching as lurking, in my case :)
Yoiur AARs are always worth a look , Alexander. Apologies for not saying so as often as I probably should.
:-B
Well, everyone can pile on sympathy, since I've just lost to Lee's Macedonians a third time in a row.
Da*ned tricky those Greeks !!
It was raining. That's not fun for an archery-heavy army.
The big picture. Lee's decided that refusing half the field is the answer. I fear she's going to have a bit of a let-down one of these days.
My ambush in the temple complex was wasted. :( As things developed, my unopposed cavalry on the left threatened the enemy right, and did fairly well against the forces that came to contain them.
BUT the big Macedonian drive into my right chewed me up seriously.
A bit of jumbo power here. Sadly, not the Companions being trampled.
When the dust settled here, the outflanked units (both C-in-Cs were involved) had survived, but the losses elsewhere were calamitous. Another indecisive victory for Alexander; Indians broken, Macedonians too shaken to follow up.
Well done Lee :D
Good looking game. :)
Cheers - Phil
Right, no more Mr Nice Guy....
OK, Indians can win, and I can make it happen for them. I was getting worried.
You quiet sure its not the army but the commander ?
I haven't lost a SYW battle in a decade! :P
Come on Ian, he is playing against someone named Lee...Wasn't he quite a good general ?
Cheers - Mr Historical Numpty. :D
Curiously, she always plays the Dam' Yankees when we fight the War of Northern Aggression.
