Lee has thumped me in the last three games. In an attempt to save our marriage, in a few hours I'll be taking her on using Poles against Muscovites.

Obviously he doesn't. I was just trying to help him keep up the illusion that he has a chance.
We of the forum know from his posts in the past that Mrs FK is:-
A better tactician
Smarter
A better cook
and infinitely better looking than out friend FK. :)
So we await a battle report of his defeat.
Phew. I had some dreadful luck; fortunately almost all in one spot, and I won the battle on the rest of the field. Feels odd when you nearly lose the battle with your hussar lancers, but win it with the pancerni Cossacks.
Mrs Kitty (aka the Penguin) is muttering about wanting a rematch. She's a better baker, but as a cook I take the household gold. She's the better woman, no denying that.

Yeah! she probably went easy on you so as not to totally crush your male ego
Pictures, "My kingdom for some pictures"!!!!! Love he Muscovites!!!

When Lee's forwarded them I shall be glad to post.
The beginning. In the foreground you may note the dragoons being ridden down by the Jiltsi after their ambush from the spinney; they depleted the Dvorani, which may have been decisive in reducing their later performance, but failed to kill the Tsar. An hussar unit is trying to exploit their effect, and has just rolled three ones in a row (the required kill roll was 2-6). The lagging pancerni Cossacks didn't understand their orders....
On t'other flank, the royal troop has more success against some feudal horse, the Lisowski Cossacks duff up the Deti Boyarski lights, and despite some withering fire from the Zaporoshki, Hertelski's hussars are about to engage the remaining boyars and tie them down until their flank could be turned.
Most of the boyars are Kallistra, by the way.
The delayed pancerni on my left being held up by Don Cossacks while my unlucky hussars are taken in their left flank by the Jiltsi guards, and in the right by the Egor Lyhotin regiment of Streltsi. Reversal of fortune; the Muscovite attacks kept failing to get enough to break the Poles. Further on, the Kaminski foot shoot the Russian Rindi guards (white coats and busbies) to bits.
Another view of the same.
Death of the Cossack musketeers. The flank attack was a failure; you can't see it here, but the rajtar are about to be shot to bits by rear fire from another streltsi unit (Ivan Poltev regiment). The pancerni had a run of excellent combat rolls, however, and the Cossack shot had no armour....
One last Russian success; their gun is about to send that little company of Polish pikemen running for it. But that was it; the accumulating Muscovite casualties broke their morale at this stage.
Good stuff ! :)
Cheers - Phil
That' looks a good game
Looks like it was a great game, cracking looking figures, very nice. :)
AND it's restored my husbandly authority (don't tell Lee I claimed that).
;D ;D ;D

Lee ... Lee
Lee's about to have a go at reasserting her supremacy in a rematch. The poor dear....
Mmmm, I like Poles... :)
I've long suspected that. :D
Kamilla, Agniezka, Ryta come to mind...getting old is sad, but with a few happy memories....
First picture from most recent engagement.
The second (note the Rindi guards hurriedly getting out of the way for a while) :
And number three. The Boyars' outflanking attempt was appropriate (very light growth in the trees), but faltered and fled from massed support shooting on their right flank.
Number five. Kallistra Boyars and Pendraken Husaria; size match-up acceptable, I'd say.
Looking good, Alexander ! :)
Cheers - Phil
Indeed! :-bd
Purrrrrrrrrr....
Preview of this evening's battle.
Oh, I'm on a roll, gentlemen (and fsn).
Very nice, Alexander !! :)

Good looking game. Glad to hear the tide of victory is turning :)
