Hotly debated topic, but this one is a goody!
Is this the last battle on English soil, or do you have a better claim?

Your turn!
I presume we need to exclude football fans.... :d
Well, there is this:

Although, apparently, no shots were fired.
I knew there had been a bit of a shoot out between British Forces and a ditched German Bomber, I reckon your link is the one Zi was thinking about.
I can't think of anything later unless you count some paintball battles I was in 😱 some o& them were brutal!
I'm not sure that 4 blokes failing to hit anything then chucking in the towel constitutes a battle.
Wireless Ridge? Or is that on British territory... not "English"?
Operation Nimrod (ending of the Iranian Embassy siege)?
Nimrod - that's a good one and a far stronger case than the handbags in the marsh.
New suggestion from some of my left-leaning friends (bunch of fascists ;D ) :
Battle of Orgreave

Realistically, I suspect that the last battle on English soil has not yet been fought.
Although it is quite difficult to have the last of something in the future. An interesting future battle may well be when the Mexicans smash through Trump's stupid wall, along with their Chinese and Russian allies, and take back the greater part of Mexico stolen in 1848 - Viva!
I had a response typed, then waiting 15 minutes before sending.
As I am a guest on your board I finally thought better of it.
Twitter should have a fifteen minute delay feature.
Peace.
15 minutes, great self control
Would that I could exercise similar control over my bladder.

Heh, the Battle of the Beanfield (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Beanfield) was more recent . . .
Nice one
...and Cardigan was there. He should have formed the peace protest (aka shandy lightweight) brigade up and charged!
