Hi guys. Why not head across to the Wargames Illustrated website to vote for this year's WI Awards? It would be great to get a company selling figures other than 28mm to win an award!!! :D

Talk about getting the vote out ! The Pendraken party machine grinds into action.
The partisan loyalty to Pendraken expressed by simply taking the trouble to vote, reflects more that just customer satisfaction.
Its a cumulative expression of gratitude for the work and effort that Leon and Dave put into the hobby. For the outlay in new ranges, the pandering to our often outrageous requests, and the principles displayed when faced with something like the BKC rules disaster. And then there is this website. 2000 + members worldwide. A function way beyond a simple sales tool. A self aware community of wargamers.
All that goes a way beyond being in the business to make a buck.
In this age of exploitation, profit driven decision making and hard commercial attitudes, it is refreshing to meet and do business with two canny lads from Teeside. Keep er lit Pendraken.
Now - have you voted yet ? :)

Sunray,
You hit the nail right on the head! Could not have said it any better. Yep, I too have voted although I doubt they will be aware of my best convention - Nashcon, since that is local and the only one I ever attend!
I'll post this expressing my THANKS to Leon and crew!

Well done all! Well said Sunray! When I posted this, I just wanted members to be aware that the awards existed, and that there was an opportunity to express how they felt about Pendraken. I think it is a shame that awards like this are not more widely publicised, and so the same people and firms win year on year. We have seen the future!
I voted awhile back
Take care
Andy

Just refreshing this thread. If you appreciate Pendraken a simple click will register your vote. :)

The Wargames Illustrated Awards 2018 have been announced and we came 2nd for customer service! Thanks to everyone who voted for us, we really appreciate your support. For a little (ish!) company working away in the 10mm corner of this hobby, to have achieved 2nd against some of the biggest names in the industry is a massive achievement and something we're extremely proud of.

Ditto! But in a competition dominated by the 28mm faction, it is an amazing result. Well done!

Definitely robbed. Pendraken customer service is second to none.
Well done, Leon!
In a world of 28s you have your 10s punching well above their weight.
Wot they said =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

+ 1 to Pendraken - well deserved.
And thanks to Mollinary for the 'heads up' about the vote. Your epitaph will be " Mollinary, the emancipator of 10 mm wargamers"
Leon - respectfully suggest you advertise the 2nd place nomination on both this forum and the shop web site.
Its from us, the :) customers giving you the endorsement to use.
And next year....on to Victory.

It's already hit all of our social media accounts but we'll have something on the main website tomorrow as well as putting it in our next newsletter.
Second place. Second? Someone must have slipped the judges a briefcase full of used 50-pounders....
Well done to all involved at Pendraken for punching above their weight against the 28mm big boys. Still the best customer service IMHO :).
Interestingly not a single thing I voted for came first. As for mdf scenery winning best scenic stuff, well that's just laughable when you have the likes of Time Cast and Total Battle Miniatures out there. I really do wonder these days whether I am pursuing the same hobby as most "wargamers."
well done!
i gladly voted for your excellent service!
I have opened a ticket with warlord games once 3 years ago, still waitig on a reply for a missing part. So you guys are truly number 1!

Funny thing is, if you put a 4 ground building next to a sarissa building, the 4ground building looks way better. However, the 4ground building is double the cost.
I think this is a case of "i vote for what i buy and like". i also buy sarissa buildings, but i find the 4 ground buildings prettier. Just can't justify the extra cost.
example: 28mm la haye sainte
from sarissa: £ 125
from 4ground: £ 285
I bet the same reasoning goes for resin manufacturers, wich often come up more expensive as opposed to mdf manufacturers. Not saying one is superior to the other, just a matter of more affordable = more people to buy them = more people to vote for them.
all my 2 cents of course...
Congratulations and well deserved
Take care
Andy

And Leven, some lovely stuff from them too. None of the ones I voted for came anywhere other than Pendraken's second place. There really is a divide between the 28mm skirmish bollocks and smaller scale big battle wargamers, probably more so than any divide between historical / scifi and fantasy ones. But then we've sort of discussed that elsewhere within the last couple of days. :)
Congratulations to all at Pendraken Towers !! :-bd
Cheers - Phil
I think you make an excellent point Peter, but weren't the categories BEST OF and not CHEAPEST.

"Quantity has a quality all of it's own" :)
None of mine came in top either. As others have stated, I cannot think of anyone who tops Leon and crew for their quality of service. I also agree with what I think has been stated that the hobby today does seem to be dominated by larger scale skirmish type games, which have little or no appeal to me!
May I quote Paris Hilton here, and not in anyway be associated to her spoiled little world - "It's not fair!"
Sorry Leon, but know we love and appreciate you!

Yes, But if 80% buy the cheapest one, the best one doesn't get as much votes. Simple as that. I'm guessing most people vote for items/companies/games they are acquainted with.
For example, if i have never bought pendraken items, i can't vote for their customer service to be the best, because i have no way of knowing that. Same thing really.
Following this argument indicates that the whole process was a complete waste of time and merely a page filler for WI.
No surprises there then ;)
As Already noted I suspect the results reflect our 'tribal' nature; what I & my mates buy is best...
I guess this feeds back to the thread about the fragmented nature of the hobby.
I know I've not bought a wargaming magazine for over a decade.
I browse the covers and just can't get excited about.
- How to paint (Big scale manufacturer's) new Venezuelan crisis figures.
- We review some Orcs
- Pages upon pages of advertorial material
It's very firm heroic scale territory.
Congratulations on the 2nd in customer service.
I read the winner's name with a derisive snort, as I've been less than impressed with their recent work.
Oops seems nr 1 is having a little bump in their road.
"Hello Warlorders!
We've been receiving a lot of messages via our social media channels asking about undelivered packages and no communication from our customer service team. We apologise and recognise that you have been extremely patient. Due to the success of our Black Friday sale and the lead up to Christmas, our dispatch team are having to work overtime and recruit members of the Warlord family form all over the company to lend a helping hand getting your orders to you. The same is true of the customer service team: they are all working tirelessly and after hours to respond to your enquiries as quickly as they can. As we're sure you're aware, they receive a lot of enquiries around this time of year, and much like the dispatch team, they are working overtime to ensure they get back to you as quickly as possible.
We know you've all been extremely patient and are naturally wondering why you have not heard a response to your enquiry or why your order has not yet been delivered. Please rest assured that we are working tirelessly to get back to you and not one of you has been forgotten. We will continue to work hard and get your responses in and get your products to you, and we thank you for your patience."
Makes no difference, Peter, because we've been told there's no chance of a second referendum ....

Reading between the lines: "We let the spin caster Troll loose with the franking machine".
They won't make that mistake twice.
