So, what colour are North Korean uniforms in the 50s?
So far, i've seen khaki, or black and white...
Which is tempting as most photos are b&w, but then I would need black and white terrain too!
Also, anyone got a ROUGH or at for an infantry company?

Nobby is on the money.  Tamiya Light Sand TS-46 comes close.

I've had a look at various sites and it seems that the North Korean
forces were based on Soviet TO&E of the time.

I would also be very interested if anyone has any further info on this.

it will be good to see them find a home.

I'm sure that any Korea supplement is just a 'glimmer in the eye' at
the moment but I am already looking forward to this with the core
BKC rules.

Okay, aesthetics question
Assembling the final elements of the company weapons platoon,
1 platoon commander
58 men
6 Atrs
4 LMGs
3 x 61mm mortars

So, command is 4 to a base, (4)
Mortars are 3 to a base, (9)
Atrs are 2 to a small base (6)
Should North Korean Lmgs in weapons platoon, 2 figures to a small base as a team or 4 figs to a standard base with 3 other shooty types? Looks like I have plenty of spare men left in the platoon, should I have a few as infantry stands (4 to a base) or would they be extra crew for mortars and Atrs?

I'd have them as 4 small 2-man LMG teams in figures, however
If you are talking real men, ie of the 59 in a platoon how many are in each section,
usually there is an ammo team within typical mortar sections which could have as many men again as the firing crews.
The LMGs in my lists are noted as also could be MMGs, each of 6-7 men, looking at 1956 lists, so they might be 6 man LMG teams (basically a lot of ammo porters)
Looking at the post 1950 TOE, 2 MMG have 13 men (MicroMark LIst KR25M), so that coincides too. It also shows teh ATR at Bttn level, 9 weapons with 21 crew in 3 squads, and 10 crew for every 3x 60mm mortars.

Thus for your 1950 TOE heavy weapons platoon should be something like:
PHQ: 1 officer, 10 men (runners, signaller, medic, ammo bearers perhaps)
1 AT Rifle Section: 1 NCO, 6(2 man) teams each 1x PTRD41
1 mortar Section: 3x 60mm mortars, 9 crew, 1 NCO
1 MG Section: 4 MMG or LMG, 24 crew, 1 NCO
