First Mexican outing setting up....
Phew! The rules need changing. I was leading the Spanish army, and won, with almost no casualties, in a mere three rounds. Realistic for a field battle in this theatre, but too easy.
corrigenda: 1) No pikemen. I included them lest the Spanish be too weak. Overkill, and they were converted into other types very soon in reality. 2) Reduce intimidation effect of cavalry. It makes a madcap death-or-glory charge too cost effective.
PICTURES!!!! ;D
Yep, pictures would be good...
They've been taken, but Lee's swaying sleepily on her feet. Be patient a day or two. :)
OK, she was less sleepy than I thought...
Left flank, after Cortes breaks the Eagle Knights. Other Eagles were skirmished into impotence by the genitors.
On my right, the Cuachicqueh guards pressed home a brave charge despite heavy losses to artillery, but accomplished nothing once in contact (stopped by a point-blank salvo, perhaps).
The Demons of Darkness were shot to bits by the Spanish shot, than flank charged by the rondeleros (not shewn here).
The second picture shows the Conquistador losses at close of play (Eric the dog missing, believed gone walkies).
As I say, the rules have already been adjusted. Next time will not be so easy.
Looks great
Take care
Andy

It must be very satisfying to have reached this point, congratulations =D> =D> =D>
This time I'm the Chosen Speaker. Here's hoping for a less ignominious result for the Triple Alliance.
Damn, those Dons charge fast! My guards and the C-in-C were lost on round two.
Better than last time, but haven't worked out how to win with them yet.
And?
And we got thumped again.
Right - the Spaniards are doing too dam' well. It's right and proper that they should get great advantages from their superior equipment, but next time they're also getting more realistic numbers of cavalry!
Twere abart 20 'orses werent it ?
And smallpox
Hmmm. I've been allowing them what would be about 200 heavy cavalry, and about 120 light. Far too many for history, and as it turns out virtually unbeatable on the table. We'll be reducing that by about 55%.
Ahhhhh, that's better. It still wasn't easy, but the Spaniards need to be a lot more careful now that even light losses can cost them their units.
And I managed it even though my off-table flank marches never arrived!
