Title: BKCII US Airborne Combat Engineers
Post by: Steve J on 12 October 2018, 06:21:59 PM
I'm in the process of putting together some US Airborne units for some D-Day and Market-Garden campaigns. I was wondering whether anyone uses Combat Engineers? I can't see much use for them in most games, as their CA is pretty low (compared to say the Germans) and it's rare for the need to take out bunkers etc.

Any thoughts or feedback greatly appreciated :)

I use them. HAveplayed a few games with bridge objectives, and in reality they took them with them to disable explosives on the bridge for all i know.

From what i have read, the CA of the british engineers is lower because their default equipment did not include the flamethrower, whereas the germans did have them issued.

If you're gaming a historical campaign then don't have to have them if they were part of Overlord or Market? ;)
