Hello everybody.
I would like to paint small armies for the 1898 war, using pendrakwn miniatures, and I would be very thankful if you can suggest me suitable references.
For the Spanish Army I am going to ACW's confederates. I have I'll have to sculpt some slouch hats on the minis wearing kepis, and may be one or two cartridge boxes, but I can live with that.
The problem is the USARMY and marines.
Any suggestions?
Naxto,
I think I can help. Basically the US army wore dark/navy blue wool shirts with a brownish khaki slouch style hat, khaki breeches and gaiters, with black boots and khaki web gear. This link may give some helpful pictures.

The US Marines wore the same basic uniform, except their trousers were sky blue

Understand that both of these uniforms are their field uniforms, not parade dress.
Hope this helps,
Terry
Hello Natxo
Maybe have a look at ww1 Australian without the upturned slouch hat brim (only picture I could find):-

You might have to remove emu feathers from the mounted and dismounted cavalry as well. but they might make a suitable arm's length proxy.

Cheers and good luck, I love a good proxy :D

I used BW39 Naval Brigade for the slouch hats and (I Think) RJ3 for the Marines in their dinky caps.

Great ideas!
I will try those Australians for the UsArmy.
The RJW for the marines is also interesting, but I will try the army first.
