anybody have a email contact for Kirriemuir Wargames Club
reason is I am giving away my entire 10mm wargames collection for free as my health has detorated quite rapidly. :(
I am unable to pack or mail anything so you would have to come and collect it, it has been valued at roughly £4000-£7000
The makes are all 10mm Wargames South/Arrowhead, Dragon, Minifigs, Magister Militum. Pendraken, Shapeways.
There is scenery, buildings, trees, terrain etc along with figures.
The figures are WW2 British, German, American, Russian, DAK, 8th Army, Italians, British, German, American Paratroopers some painted and based others with base coat. there are also figures from AWI British, American, German, professionally painted, Saxons, Normans Viking armies unpainted, 2 x Fantasy Armies unpainted , WSS French and Bavarian unpainted. Napoleonic British, Prussian, Nassau, French, Brunswick and Russian armies unpainted, ACW unpainted
Sorry to hear that - get well soon
Alan

Old Smokie,
I applaud your dignity and composure. I hope I have the same bottle when my time comes.
Your concern for disabled veterans and DLA petition some years ago did not go unnoticed.
The information annotated below will hopefully of some use.
A basic web search revealed a KWC website www.kirriemuirwargames.co.uk - I have copied the one contact listed email and a couple of phone numbers
The contact email posted on their website is for Ross Patersen (Webmaster) findal1990@gmail.com - Mobile 07867 429429
The club chairman is Dale Smith, 46 Brechin Road, Kirriemuir, Argus DD8 WDD Landline telephone 01575 574128
The club has been around since the 1980s, and going strong. A lot of well painted eye candy graces the site pages.
Good luck mate. If you need anything else, do post. We on the forum may be able to help.
James aka Sunray
Tough decision, but one we all have to face at some point. I am not ready just yet, but have promised certain armies to friends, and the rest to be sold with the profits going to Bunny rescue. My uniform library is what I feel of most value, and have not decided on that yet, but want it to have a good home.
I tip my hat and add my prayers,
Terry

Seconded
I really don't know what to say, Smokie......Apart from the fact that I'm so sorry to hear your news. :(
I second all the above comments.
Very best wishes - Phil
Sympathetic thoughts from one who, like everyone here, is a fellow-traveller with a one-way ticket. The readiness is all, as I wrote somewhere....
There is nothing to say really, keep the faith.
Very tough decision to have to make Smokie, but I agree with all the other respondents its a very good one.
The Kirremuir Club will I'm sure make very good use of your collection.
Having myself been the unexpected receipent of a fellow gamers collection I'm sure that the club members will really appreciate your generosity.
So how am I certain of this?
Well I might be sitting in front of my PC at 9.20 at night on the other side of the world but Kirremuir is actually a little bit in my blood, since my mother is related to one J.M Barrie....
In 2015 Lisa and I were fortunate enough to be able to visit Kirremuir for a day when we were last in the UK and meet some of my relatives.
Two weeks before we left NZ we buried one of my best friends, Rob Cameron, who I met in high school at the first meeting of the wargaming elective that got me started wargaming.
A couple of days after the funeral his brother rang up out of the blue and told me that Rob had left me all his gaming stuff. I was fortunate enough to see Rob a couple of times near the end of his days, but he never said a word about his gaming stuff to me.
Smokie - I wish you all the best and thank you once again for your decision.
Cheers
Peter
Very much saddened to read your news, Smokie. You've put up such a good fight and can proudly say you've helped to make a difference to other people's lives. Best wishes. Stay brave. =D>
It's already been said, but I'm very sorry to hear this and wish you well.
Can I also offer my sincerest sympathies - I was also alerted to the TMP version of this message and have passed it to the Club Secretary, who is looking to get in touch. If you don't hear, please do feel free to let me know and I will smooth the channels all I can. Or email me at morr2212@yahoo.co.uk and I will forward the message on.
Kind regards,
Richard
As with others I really don't know what to say.
thanks for all the kind words guys much appreciated, cant complain really had a good life seen and done lots of things most people dont, and I am honoured to be helping out our community of gamers, its something I have always done and encouraged and I enjoyed doing it as well. Its good to make even the smallest contribution.
Old Smokie = +1 on this forum. :)
A big thank you to Derek form the Edinburgh club for picking up my collection hopefully it will be of benefit to some people,
now just need to find the energy to list my military book collection which I'll be selling off a lot of uniform and military history books a lot of them new and in excellent condition, I,ll let you all know when thats done all the money raised from the sale will be going to charity.
Brilliant idea
KBO. ;)
Bless you, Smokie.
I really don't think any of us knows quite what to say.
VERY.....Best wishes, again.
Phil
Yes, I am just speechless.
This is a very generous and kind action you did.
Must be really heart breaking to see your collection go.
I guess in certain circumstances, things don't have the same value as before.
I hope you have your family near you.
I'm humbled by your fortitude and pragmatism, sir. Best wishes.
I'm so sorry to hear this Andy and as Phil says above, I don't quite know what to say. After we'd missed you at the shows earlier in the year I figured we'd be bumping in to you as usual on our next trip up your way, so it feels odd that that might not be the case now.
I'm glad to hear that Derek was able to come and collect everything, the Edinburgh club are a great bunch of guys so I'm sure the collection will get some good use in its new home.
You've been a loyal customer of ours for a very long time and I want you to know how much we appreciate that. It's easy at times to forget, but it's all of the folks like you that keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, and Pendraken wouldn't be where we are without you.
thanks for that Leon, love the pendraken ranges and the great staff and customer service I have had from you and Dave and the rest of the team. I also appreciate what you and Dave do and the way you accomodate our requests, glad to have been of service and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Very glad people will get the use of my collection rather than it ending up in the local rubbish tip thats a bonus
I'd like to think that when my time comes, I'll be half as accepting and organised about it as you are, Smokie.
I'm currently laid in up bed with the return of kidney stones, and under the influence of morphine, so I may not be too intelligible, but I hope your last days are comfortable at least, and you go with the knowledge that you've helped and are continuing helping out a lot of other people. You'll be sincerely missed, even though I only know you from this forum. Take care, old lad.
HUGS all
Crikey, that's harsh :(
Bit limp, but like Phil says, I don't quite know what to say from there.
That's a very generous gesture though - great legacy of gaming.
Not really sure what to say. Other than to echo what the others have said.
Your ability to think of others at this time is a great testament to your character. I hope things are as comfortable as they can be.
Like other people have said I don't really know what to say. I hope when my time comes I'm as brave and as organised as you.
My thoughts are with you
Andy
So sorry to hear your sad news. My thoughts are with you.
Thoughts and prayers with you and your family
