Title: Early war Panzer grey
Post by: tzen67 on 26 November 2010, 05:59:22 PM
Hi all,
I picked up some early war german tanks at Reading last weekend. What Vallejo/GW colour would people recommend for them. I'm aware in this scale it is suggested a lighter than normal colour is used. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Andy

I use Vallejo Panzer Grey - it may be a bit dark for 10mm but I quite like it

Tamyia Panzer Grey looks about right. Always dry brush to lighten.

I used a black undercoat,  870 medium sea grey base coat, GW Badab Black wash then drybrush with medium sea grey again. I always found that Panzer Grey was very dark for 15mm, so it'll be really dark for 10mm

vallejo panzer grey is right but due to scale it should look kighter, if you use it as base colour and dry brush with field grey then grey/green it comes out slightly lighter but corrects scale wise

I have used panzer grey and it is way to dark for my taste, however my mate used GW codex which I do like and will be doing mine in that colour.

Use the darker one, and dry brush with sand, or white , or very pale yellow. Works well in 6mm.
