Title: Derby Worlds Show Cancelled
Post by: Orcs on 02 September 2018, 12:33:29 PM
This is on their Website. So its officially cancelled

We have been trying hard to get a venue and staffing arranged for the Derby Worlds 2018 but sadly have have not been successful.  As such Derby Worlds will have a brief break this year and return in 2019 on the 5th and 6th October.

We will continue to work to keep this excellent and popular show a firm fixture on the wargaming calendar

Unfortunately that 'official' announcement came about 6 months after they'd cancelled the booking and venue they already had:

Hopefully they will find a location closer to civilisation. . The 2017 location was so remote they should have called it Derby "Lost" Worlds Show

I'm honestly not sure it'll ever be back.  There's another show taking place in a few week's time in Derby itself, plus the new Tabletop Live event in Alexandra Palace, so any potential Worlds visitors have now got shows to the north and south to go to instead.  There aren't many viable alternatives on the venue front either, all of the options that the traders explored were either too small or too expensive.
