Hi all,
Been looking recently to see if anywhere does 10mm stowage and camouflage netting. I've found the stowage on the Pendraken site but can't source any camouflage netting/bushes for tanks. With this I thought about maybe using green stuff to do patches of foliage on my American afv's. Has anyone ever used it before, is it easy to use?
With this does anyone have any good websites/companies with a wide range of 10mm boxes, barrels, bushes, equipment etc. I really try to make the bases of my RHQ and BHQ as diverse as possible to make them stand out.
Any help appreciated!
Jake
Have a look at this excellent site, particularly under 'Town & Country
Scenics' :
https://www.perfectsixscenics.co.uk/ (https://www.perfectsixscenics.co.uk/)
Although the items are meant for 6mm, they might work for you.
Another option is to look at 'N' Scale on model railway sites which,
I think, is fairly close. Wikipedia confirms that N Scale is about 1:148,
whereas 10mm figures are roughly 1:160.

I must have used green stuff for over 30 years now X_X.....and am used to its little 'foibles'. (MOST of the time ! ;))
It IS a very nice putty to use....I make all of the figures that Leon asks me to make, out of it (with a few mixes of other putties thrown in, from time to time.)
It's definitely worth giving G/S a go.....though don't expect it to do exactly what you want it to, until you've had a bit of practice.
I must admit, trying to do some camo' netting out of G/S would be something that I personally wouldn't try to do.
Patches of 'vegetation'.....Yes..It should 'do the biz'....But once again....be prepared to have a bit of practice.
If you need any help on specific uses......Plonk them down here, and I'll do my best to help.
Cheers - Phil
There was some discussion on stowage for vehicles a while ago.
http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,6946.60.html
Don't know if anything came from that. But some generic items can be found in various ranges, like the equipment in the ECW range.
Camo netting is easy - net curtain, go buy a metre of it and you will have enough for centuries, works for almost all scales (not 28mm GIANTS, but there it do as helmet scrim). Takes paint well, but use water based acrylics to stain it.

Thanks for all the replies, I am definitely tempted to get some the next time I put an order in.
I think by netting I meant to put sort of rolled up tarpaulin types of items. A quick google image search of "tank stowage sherman" shows the kind of items I intend to do. Sandbags, tarpaulins, foliage etc.
If I do get some i'll post a picture of my progress on here 8)
I've just read the vehicle stowage topic listed above. It seems back in 2013 that a vehicle stowage pack was on the verge of being cast and commissioned, but obviously it never came to fruition. I take it the project never got legs or maybe went to the back of the queue?

A pal of mine made camo netting draped down the barrel of a firefly using a tea bag cut and soaked in dilute pva. It looked the dogs.
Before the advent of the Flodden gendarmes I used Green stuff to add skirting and plumes to late medieval knights. I found it responded very well if I dipped my sculpting tool in water every so often.

I wish you'd mentioned that before I opened up all my old used teabags to use the contents as flock* and threw the bags away... ???
*roast the leaves before use or they'll rot & go mouldy.
Drink more tea ;)
Arrowhead do some, but currently sold outr, and no pic...

I though Pendraken did some, but it's been quite a while since I cluttered up my tanks, so I could be mis-remembering.

I can't, I have Gout, and, apparently, that means tea is off the menu... :'(

Pit Head do some, and it varies by nation. But it's nothing to get excited about...

Really? I have gout too, and the quack has warned me off mackerel, mussels, liver, excess alcohol, and spinach, but not tea. Fortunately I'm more of a coffee drinker anyway.
I cheat with the spinach a bit; love a good
sformato.

It seems to depend who you talk to. Red meat is also off the menu, but every so often a bacon butty calls to me...
Sorry to hear about the goat Wulf & FK
No Tea :o X_X
Hmmm, I'm warned off bacon too. But since I had some superb home-cured stuff in Wales in 1984, no other bacon has been good enough anyway.
Quite sure it was Bacon, you can never be sure in Wales !
Thick foil, such as you get around wine bottle necks, is great for making tarpaulins etc. It folds easily and has a good thickness to it to look right. Crepe bandages work well too for camo netting.

Oh, the goat's fine, he calmed down soon enough.

It tasted of leeks and coal dust; must have been the real Glendywrr.
That'll be Glyndwr in Welsh or Glendower in English. The English have lots of problems with multiple consonants.
