Title: 1848-49 Hungarians
Post by: stecal on 17 August 2018, 11:25:19 PM
Has anyone worked out what codes from other ranges work best for 1848 Hungarians and the various foreign troops that supported them?

Well quite by chance my 1st Schleswig-Holstein War troops have morphed into Imagi-Nations troops based around Austria-Hungary in 1848. So far I think figures from the Danish and Schleswig-Holstein ranges work well, as well as the new Italian Garibaldini and Bersagliari figures. Some of the ACW figures work well too IMHO. All of this is based upon Ralph Weaver's book and figures that I happened to have.

I think a lot depends upon how accurate you want to be? Certainly once on the table and with my ageing eyes, they would past muster as Hungarian Revolution troops as far as I'm concerned. If time allows later on today, I will try and be more specific about codes etc. Hope this helps?

I have a feeling my Trumpton boys may well stumble across some BBB Hungarian battlefields. Right period, right basing and two distinct armies.
