Thanks to everyone who entered the 2018 Pendraken Painting Competition, we've seen a fantastic standard of painting this year and we've thoroughly enjoyed watching the entries come in. I hope you all enjoyed in as much as we did!
In a change to the format this year, the voting has been entirely in the hands of our members and has been open for the past week. Every member had 3 votes to cast in each category, so let's see how they judged it...

Congratulations to all of our winners! We'll be contacting you in the next few days to get your prizes sorted out. We'll also get your Winner's medals added to your profiles!
Also, a huge thank you to everyone who entered from all of us here at Pendraken HQ. We always look forward to the Competition each year, watching every day as these wonderful entries come in. The time and effort that goes into achieving such a high standard is appreciated by all of us here and we hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have.
We'd like to thank all of the members for judging as well, it was a difficult task and we appreciate you taking the time to go through all of the entries.
:-bd
Just about everyone I voted for there won, so can't complain about any of those verdicts. Congrats to the winners, that was by far the hardest competition to judge so far. Best Army could easily have had at least half a dozen entries at the top.
Superb entries !......And that also applies to everyone who participated !
Cheers - Phil
Superb winners, well done all.
:D
Congrats to all the winners (and participants) - extremely competitive year with every category having tough decisions from top to bottom.
Well done all!
Well done folks =D> 8)
Many congratulations, to winners and participants all! A great competition, inspiring! =D> =D> =D> =D>
Well done to the winners and to all who took part. Very hard to vote as the standard was so high.
Congrats to all, dont think anything I voted for won owt :'( :'(
Well played all, I thought there were some cracking entries
Congratulations to all.
And may I say thank you to those who voted for my humble entries and those who nearly did.
As my grandmother used to say "it's not the taking a part that matters, it's the winning."
Well done to all entrants!! Many congratulations to the winners!
Thank you for the votes.
Regards to all
Mart
Sincere congratulations to all of the winners. It was a tough decision in all categories.
Well done all, and that includes Leon and Crew!
Terry
Well done everyone, and thanks to Pendraken for running the event and offering generous prizes.
Ay up all , well f me this has been fun . Well done to everyone . Thank you to those who voted for my entries (the cash is in the post) and a big thanks to pendraken for 10mm gold (in all ways) .
:o :) :-[ :D
Thanks to Leon for organising the competition, all those who entered for the inspiring entries, and all those who voted
Can't help thinking DHautpol might have won something if he hadn't put so many entries in each category.

Agree. His work was first class. Got my vote.
Congratulations to the winners, I agree with lots of them.
I do wonder why an entry of 3 bases was allowed in the Single Base category though - lovely paint job but feels strange to me.
Well done all participants - winners or not.
I have poured over the entries and taken away some painting and basing thoughts - so thank you everyone.

Not just DHautpol. I wonder if those who put in multiple entries shot themselves in the foot to some degree by dividing their own votes. For example, rightly or wrongly, because there were so many good entries, I made the decision to spread my votes around the entrants and not vote twice for what seemed the same thing. As far as the winners in each category are concerned, the only winner multiple entries seemed to pay off for was Shutuphippie - all of the other winners only put in one entry in the category they won.
Anyway, congrats to all the winners and runners-up, thanks to Leon for organising and sponsoring the competition plus my commiserations to everyone else who entered and made it so hard to judge. =D>

I thought the same thing but i just felt motivated to paint and didn't think I would prep and base and paint a second entry when i posted the first one. But I did. I felt my second entry was better (and indeed awarded me a second place) but couldn't (didn't want to) retract my first entry.
Congratulations to all the winner and a big well done to everyone who took part. Thanks Leon and team for putting on the event. I for one am looking forward to next year's event.
Gaz.

Many congratulations, to winners and participants all ! Thanks to Leon for organising the competition, and thanks to everyone who voted for my Germans troops.
TBH if you're going to have late war Germans that's how they should look. A well-deserved win. :-bd
I would also like to thank Leon in organising this for us. As a community we are so scattered it's terrific to be able to share pictures and ideas on here!
I would like to add my thanks to the organisers for arranging the competition and add my congratulations to all the winners, some of the work was amazing. Rupert of Hentzau's LoA are beautiful, I just wish the units were bigger so as to increase the spectacle. I also really liked paulr's AWI units, at the other end of the unit size spectrum, and the elephants in xccam's Carthaginians, the face is very expressive.
I would also like to thank Leon for loading my pictures into the relevant places
I would have posted my congratulations sooner but managed to lock myself out of the forum; fortunately, Leon has sorted that out for me now.
I am reluctantly compelled to the conclusion that key judges have been influenced by anonymous deposits in Swiss bank accounts, unclad ladies at parties, and cases of champagne.
Subject to which proviso, well done the winners. <:-P
Amazing entries this year was so hard to choose, many of them could have gone either way. Well done to the winners. =D> =D>
First off a massive thanks to Leon for organising the competition.
Secondly thank you for everybody who voted for me to be honest I'm a little bit overwhelmed by it all
Thirdy sorry for my late reply as I've been on holiday for 10 days
Take care
Andy
Welcome back from holiday, a well result :)

That should, of course, have read "a well deserved result" #-o
Thanks Leon for organising this again and thank you to everyone who voted for my efforts. Some fantastic entries , especially in the vehicle section, that show what can be done with 10mm.
now the dilemma. Order more LoA and edge that project closer to completion or use as a start of a new project :-/

I'm constantly making mistakes so I shouldn't worry. I knew what you meant anyway
Take care
