Very interesting. I love seeing Mechs, but associate them with Weird War where I have walkers of some sort in almost every army.
The naval game looks fun too - do the flags on the stern of the base indicate the wind direction? Spent too many years ocean racing sailboats not to think about the wind direction and the maneuverability of he ship.
Enjoyable reports!
Terry
Flags are just there to denote nationality. Wind direction is donated by a arrow off map. To be frank Kiss Me Hardy is more to a game than a simulation for sailing ships. There are other rules much higher fidelity to the challenges of Age of Sail fighting. But KMH works for me being different enough from steamships as to give me my "fix".
Two good looking games.
Must get my WizzKidz mech stuff out again some time!
Very nice work, Konstantinos !
Cheers - Phil
Great pair of set ups Professor.
We have played Kiss Me hardy with Last Hussars' "Napoleonic" shipd he convertyed from the "Pirates" collectable card game
And thank you to all in the club who donated. If any body has any of those ships let me know if they are up for sale.
Sunjester and I have played the Osprey sail rules "Fighting sail". Simpler and quicker for big actions, but a bit simple. Good fun though
They look good
Take care
Andy
Konstantinos.....
I meant to ask......
Are the Mechs plastic or metal figures ?
If they're metal......I made a few of those. ;D ;D ;D ;D
(I recognise the shapes.....Don't ask me the names, though. ;))
Cheers - Phil
You *are* prolific, Phil! A quick Google tells me you did a fair whack of Battletech stuff for Ral Partha :)
I'm afraid I did, Nathan. :-[ :-[
I did so many (or that's what it seemed).
I've got umpteen 'blisters' of Mechs in boxes in one of the barns with my name on them. X_X X_X X_X
And the bloody 'Clicky Mechs'....There's the first two complete sets of releases out there as well.
(I certainly didn't make anything like the whole lot....But I did a damn good few of them.)
I couldn't do those now....Without gong completely insane. ;)

BOINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Sorry couldn't resist :-* :-* :-*
Stirring stuff Phil, I love me some Battletech :D
Even Dark Ages clicky, although the rules were pretty pants there's some good stuff in the models. Annoyingly I flogged all mine (picked up here and there on ebay) shortly before I got into Future War Commander >_<

No sweat, Ian ;)...Straight line 'stuff' drives me
completely loopy, now...and I know other designers will do the same type of work for fraction that I'd need to charge to pay for the horse feed that the better half needs. ;)
Nathan.....I was told (Hah !)...that the boxes of 'Clicky Mech' stuff that I've still got would fetch four figures......
Yeah, right !
I'll just keep making soldiers for Leon.

Phil, never underestimate the power of the "it's rubbish! Get rid of it all!" followed by "aaaaaaaaaand now I want it all baaaaaaaaack!" "collectables" market :D
That said I bought and sold mine for pennies on the pound, but then that was, errr, nearly a decade ago?
Given ebay prices I think you'd need a *lot* of boxes of it to make four figures but you never know.

Von must get her oats?
No, Nobby....It's the bloody barley that I have to start off, every afternoon, so that the 'oldies' (especially 'Billy'.. a thoroughbred...whose dad and grandad both won the Derby (True...honestly,) genuinely.....He's a silly old sod....But even I, as a non - horsey person, love to bits.....He's 30 now.....But still as daft as a brush...but without a nasty bone in his body :))

Plastic Phil, they are the Catalyst Labs kickstarter introduction box
Thanks Konstantinos.
In that case, they must be copies of some that I made......Unless they used the metals as the pattern for the plastics. (Which would have been the cheapest way, I guess.)
