For those of you with an Eastern bent, Amazon seems to be raiding the archives of Russian TV.
There is a series on the Korean War called ... "The Korean War".
A WWII air drama called "The Attackers" and some WWII ground based series "The Dawns are Quiet Here", "Life and FAte" and "Snow and Ashes".
For a more up to date offering, there's "Tank Biathlon" in which teams for around the world drive and shoot T72s in a competition - except for the Chinese who bring their own tank.
Cheers matey, I will peruse these later. I find amazon is quite good for old obscure docu's
There's also a 2 part series on WWI in the air called "The Aces War". It's in French. but dubbed.
Canters along at a good pace and the graphics are quite excellent.
Continuing the air theme, there's "The RAF collection": 3 episodes on "Early Jets", "Cold War A/C" and "Forgotten Bombers".

There is also some use of subtitles, particularly interesting when German officers are speaking to each other in French. Not sure if the French is in a German accent, as in Ve haf vays of making you talk!
Interesting one on swords and sword fighting too. (Mike Loades isn't in it.)

I find him particularly irritating as a presenter/ tame expert - YMMV
I shall continue to avoid him then.
He's astonishingly enthusiastic. I find more than a couple of minutes of him presenting puts my teeth on edge! He was on the recent BBC4 series about the Celts, and his constant "THIS CHARIOT IS THE CUTTING EDGE OF HIGH TECH MILITARY WARFARE! WOOOO!" and "THIS SWORD IS AMAZING! WOOOOO!" was really irritating. Especially as I'm unconvinced the chariot really was cutting edge in the 1st century AD :D
