Title: Austrian military maps and others
Post by: cameronian on 01 March 2018, 12:02:52 PM
Not sure if I've posted this already, excellent scans of numerous historic maps, of particular interest the Austrian survey maps from 1763 to 1869 - with the German names of the villages.

Thank you for posting this.   I have seen it before but not for a while now.
Really interesting to look at your home in the distant past - amazing how
so many of the old farm names are still in use on road titles etc.

True !   There is a small monument to the Boulton-Paul about 100 yds
from my abode.   Sometimes, you don't realise what used to be under
your feet...

Cheers,

Crikey Phil, you're almost local! Though I've moved the dizzying distance to Brum, I'm Wolves by childhood! You should pop along to WMMS on the 18th and join us for a game of Black Ops :)

Back on the map (see what I did there?!), I keep thinking I should work out how to get an image file of those maps then get them printed as a pvc battle map... although I dunno if that's a license issue, mind...
