anybody else having problems with the non delivery of presents you ordered online
my Pendraken goodness has not turned up >:( >:( >:( neither has other stuff I ordered online for presents for other people >:( >:( >:(
all I must say were ordered in good time {insert lots of expletives}
I had a book I ordered for my Son-in-Law from an Amazon supplier not turn up. I chased them and they could not find the order. I sent the details last Wednesday and they have not got back to me !! >:(
So as they came round to day I had to give him a print of the front cover and explain. Fortunately I had the main present for him and a couple of small bits.
Arrgh! That's bobbins! :'(
Nope, ordered my stuff on black friday and got it a week later!
Ordered a present for me, ostensibly from my parents, late Tuesday night/ early Wednesday morning. It arrived Friday afternoon, as promised.
Most of the rest is virtual so delivery pretty much instant.
I asked for an early visit from my Urology Consultant.
It didn't happen.
I'll just have to wait till Wednesday.

I hope your consultant sorts you out promptly Jim >:<
Ordered a couple of Box sets from Amazon on Friday, and they arrived Saturday.
Admittedly they did duplicate one of the sets and charged me for it....So that's going to get sent back for a refund.
Cheers - Phil
Nope, all mine turned up - cackles manically and rubs hands with glee.

So sorry, I didn't spot that post, before, Jim. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
Having recently escaped from the urology ward in the 'local' hospital myself, you have my
total sympathy.
It sounds as though you're going through
far more problems than yours truly.
It now FEELS that
I'm starting to 'win', at last.....Thank goodness....And I sincerely hope
you do the same, as soon as possible !!!
Very best wishes - Phil
Good to hear you are at least starting to win Phil

Sorry about that Andy, we've had a lot more packages delayed this year for some reason, there's about half a dozen still AWOL somewhere. One thing that might be worth doing is checking with your local sorting office? We had one chap who's order went missing and he eventually found it sitting on a shelf in the depot. They told him that with all of the bad weather in some parts of the UK they weren't even attempting delivery of some parcels, and obviously weren't able to leave the usual note either. Any packages affected will eventually be delivered I'd assume, but there's always the chance that they get forgotten about until into the new year.
Hi Leon
no need to apologize, not your fault, they should turn up at some point hopefully
All my orders arrived promptly - just 2 this month, both from Cavalier and both PSC 15mm, 1 M4A1 Wet, other M3 1/2 Tracks. However the Shermans were in a post office damaged pack envelope and looked like someone (not my postie) had tried to force em into a standard letter box. Fortunately all 5 proved fixable, and there is the off chance of some compo from the Snail at a later date.
well whad ya know. all turned up today :)
two of them post marked 16th and 17th December first class >:( >:( >:( from a well known online retailer >:( >:( >:(
more interested in my Pendraken goodness :) :-bd
the Brunwickers are lovely top marks Dave and Leon :-bd =D> =D>
I was very lucky. Pendraken arrived, books from Partizan and Ospreys from Amazon arrived, a major EBay buy arrived. The only miss was my batch of custom painting from Pixie (not his fault - was sent early enough and did arrive yesterday). It got slowed down in US Customs then caught somewhere between here and Baltimore (125 miles) at the 6pm Dec 24 delivery cut-off.
I'm happier than a pig in....! :D
Happy New Year, y'all.

I suppose it shows customs are doing their job properly. The only way to get stuff over to the States any quicker nowadays is to use one of the couriers, like FedEx or UPS, as their 'operatives' help speed it through. Sadly that makes it
LOTS more expensive. :(
Happy New Year to you too, Bill !!
Cheers - Phil
Thanks
Apparent US Customs tracks trends or some such. Things that I get from Pendraken and one or two others, which I order on a regular basis, seem to breeze through these days. Pixie's was a plain brown wrapper in which he had carefully packed each unit, still on their sticks, in their own individual roll of soft paper towels and each one of these separated by shredded paper. Heaven only knows what this looked like on X-ray! A collection of improvised fragmentation grenades? :D
May you have a low stress and healthy year, Phil!
Thanks Matey. :)
Cheers - Phil
Haha, I can imagine the raised eyebrow on the x-ray operator :D
Sorry Bill, I owe you an email reply but I haven't been near the PC and it deserved a longer reply than I can be bothered with via the phone ;)
Glad they've arrived safely, and you're pleased!
We had one late Xmas card (ironically from a family member who'd winged about last minute things from others :D), everything else appeared in time.
No games stuff for me (but I did get Ms Pixie a copy of the Labyrinth board game as she's a massive Bowie and Labyrinth fan), but I do have some cheques awaiting deposit. I foresee scenery, possibly Escenograhia via Pendraken :) Think my table needs a windmill!

A 'number' of years ago I remember flying back from the Nationals in Christchurch. The bag screening x-ray operator had obviously been amused by all the various armies being carried through as 'carry on'. My 1980s Belgian army illicited the comment, "this one's got planes!" ;D

You cunning bugger ;D
It's pretty rules light so she should enjoy it enough for me sorry us to play some games instead of staring at the moron box :D
My local post office had stopped looking surprised at me answering "toy soldiers" to their "whats In the parcel?" Questions.
Shortly after Royal Mail banned hobby paints from being posted I had a package to post. I was feeling considerably less than charitable towards Royal Mail at the time and I didn't see why I needed to reveal details of the contents.
Post Office clerk: What's in this?
Me: Why?
Post Office clerk: I need a note for this register
Me: It's a present
Post Office clerk: Yeah ... but ... what SPECIFICALLY?
Me: Nothing banned or restricted by Royal Mail
Post Office clerk: Yeah, but ....
Me: It does not contain aerosols, whether containing paint or similar items nor for medical use or for personal grooming; it does not contain alcohol of any ABV; it does not contain weapons, ammunition, explosives, flammable items either liquid or solid; batteries made from any material type; improperly packaged liquids, glass containers or similar hazards ...
Post Office clerk: Yeah, "Present" then, right.
I can be so petty sometimes :(
No problems here, everything I expected to get before Crimble turned up in god time.

Sometimes pettiness is a must in the face of such beaurocratic nonsense.
