As the trees lose the last of their leaves and the sun spins lower and lower in the southern sky, fsn’s thoughts turn to his repairing to the sweat lodge near Bolton. Here he will invoke the muse (a large bosomed actress who bestrode the world of 1940 films) and begin work on his year-end ode and gift catalog.
Armed with equal and (I must say) quite substantial amounts of mescaline and Benadryl, his famed huffing bong strapped to his side, he will throw a well-thumbed copy of the Encyclopedia Galactica in the back seat, slam an eight-track of Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell in the player and begin his journey North.
I would like to be the first to say to him, may you dream of dancing Lemmies clad in tutus and the ravagement of Welch sheep.
...And may the rhymes be ever in you favor!
But Runcorn is a sealed town, with certain through routes you stick to.....so how ? ;)
As a Merseysider I am baffled by what this is all about. Who, in their right mind, goes to Bolton? As far as I am aware there are no tanks there - FSN should be heading south to Dorset.
Well there is a Cent in Preston !
I am confused too. FSN has enough sweaty encounters with females of dubious repute, that he does not need a sweat lodge.
If he was to retreat with said muse I think he would need lots of little blue pills so the said lady was not disappointed., not a bong. :)
Gentlemen, there are plenty of tanks in the Preston area, H.H. Peddler and Son manufactures plenty!

None the less, I am currently in negotiations with his agent for the movie rights.
Isn't there enough **** in the cinemas already? ;D ;D ;D
Wait! Bolton has a sauna? :o
Bolton and Preston are most definitely not the same thing. They are not even in the same local government area.

Don't be so harsh (or you may find you'll be making a special guest appearance), they provide much needed escape into the alternative reality that is fsn's world when I would otherwise be engaged with 'Festive Fun!'
Obviously d_Guy is angling for a starring role. :-\

Hmmm ... I think we may have to have a Belgian Scottish Cow Herd this year

Just for clarification is this a Cow Herder of Belgian Scottish descent, or a herd of cows of Belgian Scottish descent?

Oh yes.
Gentlemen.
D-Guy is right n one respect, I have been withdrawing from Runcorn recently. However, his geography is slightly wrong (no comments about US citizens and maps, please) in that I have been travelling South, and not North.
I've been spending a lot of time in Wolverhampton. For those of you who haven't been there, my brother describes it as "having all the drawbacks of a city, and none of the benefits", so the trips aren't for pleasure.
Suffice to say, family responsibilities are consuming my time, and so, regretfully for me (though probably to much acclaim on the forum's less astute members), I shall probably not be able to pen a Pendrakenmas offering this year.
Perhaps d_Guy could step in and cheer us all this Pendrakenmas?
I apologise to the fan of my writing.
At least they have trams. Owing to council dithering and nigardliness we missed out on trams in Liverpool.
Sorry news indeed. The dark Winter days will now be a shade bleaker. To better days, fsn.
I have neither the wit nor skill for such a challenge, being a mere reactor and not an accomplished artist. I can, however, silently name several here that COULD do fair justice to the Pendrakenmas challenge.
I now feel technologically advanced, Leman. Even here in the backwoods we have trams. They are used to move logs down to the valleys.

You can have ours! I still don't understand why anyone thought Edinburgh needed a tram service that runs along much the same route as the 22 bus just less frequently and at vastly higher cost!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Twas the month before Christmas and all through the forum
Were the usual postings and lack of decorum.
The forumites heard and collectively shivered
fsn's Christmas ode would not be delivered!
The regular posters all raised such a a clatter,
Others arrived to see what was the matter.
Away to the keyboard I flew like a flash,
With curses and mutters a message to dash.
fsn has a mind so lively and quick,
that sends volleys of postings in time for St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his postings they came,
And he typed, and he posted, and called them by name!
"Now, Peter! now, Paulr! now, Lemmy and Leman!
On, Westie! On, Orcs! on, d_guy and Leon!
To the top of the forum! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
If fsn's missing, that jolly old elf,
And the posts that I laughed at, in spite of myself!
Will not be repeated for this Christmastide,
Then forumites all, your light do not hide.
Hie to your keyboards and thinking caps don,
And emulate posts from the years that are gone
fsn mimic with all of your might ...
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
I have a really horrible feeling that I know the reason for Nobby's post.
You take care, Matey.
Very Best Wishes - Phil
Hugs Nobby.
FSN, Despite all the banter, Pee taking and framing I have given you this year, Please accept my most sincere best wishes at this time.

Well done, Ithoriel.
Best wishes from me, too, Nobby.
