Title: My WIP Workbench
Post by: hakejumble on 27 October 2017, 08:16:05 PM
Hi all,

I've decided to start this painting diary to show people my upcoming work and to hopefully give people an insight into how I paint and my processes.

My upcoming projects include;

- 10mm Russian Tank Corps

- 10mm German Panzer/Panther/Tiger Battalions

- 10mm AWI British Infantry Brigade

- 10mm British Commission Work

- 10mm German Commission Work

So here are my first items.

While I wait for my current projects to be delivered, I am still mopping up the remaining figures/vehicles/artillery pieces I have left.

Up first are my current test pieces for my up and coming Russian tank corps, I have never painted Soviet figures before and so I have order a few test pieces to test my painting technique out.

Next is my Bergpanther, I bought this vehicle to give me a recovery element to my Rapid Fire! force. It was definitely the most technical figure that I've ever put together from Pendraken!

Here are my German prime movers that I have had sat on the bench for months. I tend to get the exciting armour out of the way first, and then forget about the smaller less exciting figures.

Last but not least, are my brigade guns for my up and coming AWI British brigade. I have some more on order which I am going to paint in Royal Artillery colours this time!

Until next time!

Very nice indeed. I particularly like the bronze artillery done with non-metallic paint.

Update - 02/11/2017

I've finally started making a dint into my massive Russian force, here's a photo of the armour alone.

I'm planning on finishing one tank troop and one infantry battalion/company every night at least, just to keep me ticking over every night.

Anyway, here's tonight's contenders ...

Yeah I agree, they're looking a bit too clean for my liking. I'm going to wait until I have them all finished and then load up my airbrush.

Thanks all for the kind words

*** UPDATE 17/11/2017 ***

Apologies all for the delay in an update.

I've been extremely busy working my way through my Russian Tank Corps.

I've never done so many models in one go, in my entire life. Definitely had to do some soul searching along the way, especially whilst picking out individual track links and figures boots!

Anyway, here's the end product of many late nights.

Great stuff - you really have been busy, not just painting but basing all of these too.

From the photo of the bare metal, it looks like you are rather a lot more T34s and trucks to paint as well!

Hi all,

Quick update from my workbench this weekend.

Having picked up my first British order this weekend at Battleground, I hurriedly drove home to make a start on my first Armoured Regiment and accompanying Motorised Infantry Battalion. Just so I am able to use them on Monday's club game of Blitzkrieg Commander II.

Finally had the chance to use the mountain of scenic basing tufts I've been hoarding ready for these Brits.

Hopefully looking at using these British units in some demo BKC III games next year with the Grimsby Wargames Society.
