Title: Hello From Hampshire
Post by: Blaxkleric on 06 November 2010, 05:37:13 PM
Hi all, been following the forum for a couple of months now ever since an impulse buy from Pendraken at Colours in September. I've previously bought the 10mm Dungeon but as you'll see from my blog its Pendraken's WW2 that has caused me to lose so much money  ;)

Managed to paint up a couple of 1,000 pt armies for Blitzkrieg Commander (German & Soviet Eastern Front), and just working on some reinforcements. Then someone plonked a copy of Black Powder in front of me, so I'm also waiting on a Pendraken British Sudan War army for that  :-[

I keep seeing mention of a Falklands Range being considered as well  :d

Welcome aboard.

Nice blog!

Have you painted up the dungeon?

Many thanks. Nice to be onboard.

To be honest all I've done is undercoat part of my dungeon set. My cunning plan was to paint it all black, and then drybrush it in two shades of grey and then plonk some static grass here and there as moss. I've done this with an Ainsty 28mm dungeon and it seemed to work quite well. Unfortunately though its now all boxed up and 'shelved'.

I had bought some more rooms and corridors etc. indeed I visited the Pendraken stand at Colours to pick up some more monsters and furniture etc. Then I was distracted by the WW2 winter stuff   :D

Some of the photos I've seen of the painted dungeon sets are very inspiring, and I'm sure now I'm hooked on 10mm it'll only be a matter of time before it all comes back out onto the painting table.

Welcome - and nice to see your winter stuff...I keep meaning to get round to some snow-scrapping & having seen yours, I might just have to bump it up the list  8)

Looking forward to seeing your Dungeon stuff too once it's done  ;)

I was at first a bit hesitate about doing everything with snow on it as I thought it limited the number of armies I'd be able to field against one another etc (without the need of redoing the armies with grass or even sand for DAK) but having done some research its clear that all the Axis forces at some time or another took on the Russians (including the Italians), and then there is the Ardennes Offensive with the British, American, Canadian and even Free French Armies. Sorted.  ;)

I'd certainly give snow a miss when you get round to your dungeon.  ;)
