A few piccies from our Ramillies refight on Wednesday. We'll be putting the game on at Alumwell WMMS tomorrow so if you are attending pop over and say 👋

That could not be accurately described as 50% immoral.
No. 100%
Superb!!! Very impressive! :)
Fantastic looking game. A few of us will be dropping in to WMMS tomorrow and will
come along to say hello. Looking forward to seeing the game in person - I've admired
from afar for a while now !
Phil
Great looking game - I will come and have a good look tomorrow.
Very nice! I'll try to wander over :) Pokr me on the 28mm Trojan Wars skirmish if you pass us :)
It's no good reading how good thee game looks if the bl**dy pics aren't showing! Grrr!

I can see them, it looks great :)
Fantastic looking game, and now you're about to be blessed with some remarkable command figures.
Really terrific looking game ! :-bd
Cheers - Phil
Great looking game, congrats!
I had a very enjoyable time a the show
Shutuphippie's game looks even better in the flesh
I had a shuftie at ToxicPixie's printed maps for BBB - I must get myself some of these
And met a few of the forum members including Glorfindel & Matt as well as Leon and Dave
A good day out
Apologies to everyone I failed to get over and speak to (Leon & Dave were both quite engaged with customers each time I passed, a good sign I hope?!), it was quite a busy day despite not doing much/any shopping (some average dice for Twiglet were about the most exciting thing I got!)!
Some cracking looking games - nice to see excellent 10mm stuff on the table and rolling, and Nicks 2mm as well - your BUA markers are spot on. I really must get sorted for running it at the club ;)
Cheers to those I did manage to see, and I hope it went well for everyone. We had a good spread of people all through the day for the Trojan Wars game, and the Acheans came out with a marginal win overall. No photo's of anything, sadly, for I got carried away and failed.
Are average dice really out of fashion? Magister M were the only people seemed to be carryign them, and they say they had to have them specially made!
Great looking games, are you going to be at Salute?
I am looking at doing WSS as one of my future projects and will be doing unit bases as you have done. I think the system looks great and really shows off the linear tactics.
Do you have a blog about this project?

I think this idea has taken off :D
They're not as "reconfigurable" as "proper" terrain, but it;s a very, very quick and pretty cheap way to get a complex battle field down in the time it takes to roll the mat out :)
And if you leave the names off then they're very easily repurposed to other battles and periods!
I get mine done by www.pixartprinting.co.uk (http://www.pixartprinting.co.uk), just resize your image to Xcm by Xcm, with about a 2mm "bleed" added and go. The better the quality of the original image, the better they look, so if you have any talented digital artist friends get them down the map-mines immediately ;)
I did like your custom set up on the terrain tiles, mind - very nice. Was it a grudging Austrian victory in the end?
Here are some (bad) pictures of a mini game I ran at Alumwell. The idea behind this is to make a scaled down mini version of the game I would normally play that is portable by a single person - basically I have transport problems. This is 1 base of figures per unit, I would normally use 2 or more bases per unit.//
These are for the battle of Marsaglia, 1693
More Marsaglia
and more
...
....
A final shot of another, related, project mostly of interest here for the mat. This is a mat for Edgehill, 1642 - again reduced scale to that which I would normally use.
Edgehill looked pretty good - using the Irregular town sectors worked nicely! I had a quick look on the way past but I'd missed you in person :)
Lovely looking games
Really enjoyed the show on Sunday. There seemed to be a stack
of impressive games from the LOA / WSS era which I appreciated.
Also very nice to bump into one of the forum members (Shedman)
and have a natter about the excellent Magenta display game.
This looked particularly impressive - I would certainly not want to be
one of the French Grenadiers, attacking across a bridge into a well
defended town. I didn't get the chance to play on Sunday but,
at some point, would certainly like to give this period and the BBB
rules a try out.
I also got to chat to another forum member (Shutuphippie) about
the excellent Ramillies game his club laid on. Pics in this thread.
Even more impressive when you see this 'live' - really looked the
part. I thought the terrain looked particularly good.
I'm currently painting the same figures for the same era so this game
was an inspiration.
Thank you to both for taking the time to have a natter. Its been
said many times but I think that putting a game on at a public show
should prioritise talking to interested spectators rather than treating it
as just another club game. Credit to you both.
Phil
