Title: New from Massachusetts (Marlborough)
Post by: notmatthew on 27 February 2017, 04:02:51 PM
Hello!
I'm an avid collector of miniatures.  I have amassed a pretty large collection of ancients and Napoleonics in 10mm, but sadly only a small fraction is currently painted.  I haven't tried Warband yet but wouldn't mind trying it out.  I am most interested currently in playing 10mm Kings of War Historical.  Formerly I was pretty big into Warhammer so I have dozens of now useless armies gathering dust...I'd love to trade them for historicals!

Welcome, Non-Gloss.

Get rid of them Warhammer stuff, and get yerself some proper gear.

Anything other than Napoleonic take your fancy? Have you checked out the Centurion tank?

Hi and welcome to the forum Matt!

I hope you know what you are letting yourself in for :)

I have long resigned myself to the realisation that, given the proportion of unpainted to painted minis in my collection and the increasingly infrequent tabletop games played, that I am a planner and collector of armies not a painter or wargamer!  =)

I've found the forum friendly and helpful - I trust you will too.

This is a very friendly forum although to join you must be classed as slightly insane.

Welcome. I have just started collecting Marlbrough's armies in 28mm for a bit of Baroque, Honours of War or Black Powder action.

Welcome, and welcome To 10mm you will find that you can amass armies very quickly.

Regarding your Warhammer stuff - it would be great for playing fantasy KoW.

I'd love to try out Historical Warband.   Are there playtest rules available?  I especially like the look of 40x20mm bases in sabots.  Reminds me of my warhammer days.
