Thanks for the interesting problem (and before my second cup of coffe).
Google translate auto identified the first as Korean (sort of). About ten minutes later simple Chinese gave something about fat Aztecs eating puffers! In any case maybe this is the year of of the Aztecs.

Upping post count is good. Happy New Year, Kitty.

I believe the phrase for this new year is, 'What a load of cock.'

Looks like you have a major virus - your system is generating rubbish. Mind you it's normal for you.

Strange. The neighbour's pet monkey says that about string quartets too.

I'm curious about the relationship that may exist between your cats and the neighbor's pet monkey, cordial would you say?

Unlikely, cats don't like other cats, let alone monkeys.

BTW - what Chinese year is it ? - surly not year of the Kat ?

I believe I was born in a previous year of the Rooster. Not that I'm crowing about it.

You're lucky. I'm a pig. :( I'm told to the Chinese it's an auspicious one; that we're brave, determined, loyal...but it's not a tiger or a dragon, dammit.

I'm a Water Snake apparently - clever, creative, lively, and communicative, but sentimental.

This IS the Century of the Fruit Bat isn't it? ;)

No.
We are currently in the Century of the Anchovy (as proven by Carpe Jugulum). It is definitely The Year of the Backwards-Facing Artichoke, according to the Discworld Emporium, is the name of the Common Year 2017.
