I arose in a good mood - despite the incessant cycle of rain, sleet, and snow - but while drinking my coffee I discovered that this is Blue Monday. WTF! I'm sure for the chronically depressed (I am not one) that this really helps.
Here is the Wikipedia:

And here is the inevitable dedicated website:

It's interesting that this was invented/discovered in Wales.
I'm thinking of a day dedicated to belly button lint cleansing.
Incidentally, had to take all special characters out of the post to bypass the Hacking Attempt warning

I follow Sandra Boynton (http://sandraboynton.com/sboynton/Introduction.html (http://sandraboynton.com/sboynton/Introduction.html)) on Facebook because I like the cartoons she does for "National/ International Day of ..."

Sadly nothing (so far) for Blue Monday
Perhaps Orkestra Obsolete's version of Blue Monday will put a grin on your face? https://youtu.be/cHLbaOLWjpc (https://youtu.be/cHLbaOLWjpc)

I had a very nice day yesterday, including BT agreeing to upgrade my home hub and charge me less per month for doing so - back of the net!

Blue Monday by New Order
You'll just have to move a 1st World Country! :P
I don't know about Blue Monday, which seems a bit of modern wishy washy nonsense for those with nothing better to worry about ;)
However I personally look forward to January 19th which according to a program I once saw about the seasons marks what is generally the coldest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. Until the 19th the earth is still cooling (despite being nearly a month after the solstice) and by the 19th the trend is finally going the other way as the days start to get noticeably warmer. By the third week in January I'm starting to notice it's getting light as I walk the Mut in the mornings and less dark as I leave work.
Had a big struggle to persuade a friend that, although the hours of daylight are getting longer and the evenings are getting lighter, mornings continue to get darker for a few days after the solstice, despite having sunrise/ sunset details up on screen in front of them!
What I don't get is the continue to get darker part.
Doesn't it simply continue to be as dark? :P
I remember listening to a WWII pilot saying "we just got on with it. If, every time we finished a mission, some young lovely with a clipboard asked us how we were feeling, we'd probably have cracked up." (I paraphrase.)

The hours (well minutes at least) of darkness in the morning increase so the morning as a whole gets darker, no? :D
