I am looking for pictures of the individual packs for the Boer War range.
I have found and old thread where Leon writes that they are currently being painted - which was 2 years ago, but besides an excellent army picture for a competition, I have not seen any of the minis.
Can anyone help?
I cannot on that range, but I am sure someone will be along shortly to help.
In the meantime, hello, welcome, pull up a couch, make yourself comfortable and wait for the wave of insanity to arrive!
What ho, Kaspar!
Please think of me as the first of the wave of which Friend Lemmey speaks.
Boer War? Never touch it, Old Thing. Not enough horse power for me, what? Sure someone who knows about these things will pootle along in a mo'.
First off, welcome to the Forum!

We did have someone painting them up for us but unfortunately it didn't pan out so we only got a few codes worth done. There's a variety of photos on here and elsewhere, including those from the painting competition. Is there any codes in particular you were looking for?

Welcome :-h
I used a few of the Boer War codes in my 1917 project. As Leon said if you let us know what codes you are interested in I'm sure someone will have some pictures

Never done 10mm before, sø I really dont know what to expect.
I would ideally like a photo of each pack, but if that is not possible.then of the infantry and cavalry packs.
Can't help you with your request, Kaspar. (Sorry) :(
But a very warm welcome to the forum.
Cheers - Phil
Just checked this out Kaspar,. Could only find one photo in Late C19th/ Colonial photos on page 9 - mounted infantry. It does give a very good impression of the quality of this range.
If i'm not mistaken, there was a demo game at crisis a few years ago that had pendraken boers. Will see if i Can find the pics later when i'm on pc, kind of hard to find on phone.
Still looking for the pictures, but i found this:

and some here:
http://donoghmccarthy.blogspot.be/2009/08/dahomey-expeditions.html
Seems that the army from the crisis game was actually the army from the painting comp ;D

Those are probably the best photos we've got of that range, there's one or two more available through Google as well. We can always send you some samples out if that would be better? Just drop us an email through the Pendraken site: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Contact.aspx

From the painting comp, that year, towards the bottom of the page. (Ace of Spades - Rob ?)

I don't know about Kaspar, but that certainly roused my interest. Superb photos.

It is a great looking army no doubt about it.
I am pretty sure that I will place an order in the new year, but since I don't really know what comes in each pack, I am having difficulty selecting which packs to get.
An infantry pack contains 30 figures with about 3 command figures, officers and the like, the remaining figures are a reasonably even mix of the various poses. A cavalry pack is 15 mounted figures with 2-3 command figures. Artillery is 3 guns with about 4 crew per gun.
These pictures give you an indication of the various poses in some of the packs

If you have any specific questions about particular packs I'm sure someone can answer them.
Also if you ask the nice Mr Leon politely they will tailor packs to your requirements, for example I got some Afghan tribesmen and asked for rifle armed only
gentlemen,
My apologies for overlooking this interesting thread for so long! Apparently I could have been of help since the army so often mentioned and praised (thanks!) is mine.
If I can still be of help just let me know!
Cheers,
Rob

Please do
My interest has been piqued with the appearance of a number of BBB scenarios, in a similar way to the RJW. Also, both wars are catered for in Square Bashing, which provides a good three hour session with some focus from the pre-game activity.
I believe I have most of the British packs but not many of the Boers (friend of mine did these) but I'll see what I can post here!
Can't seem to find the old photographs Kaspar but I'm willing to make some new ones.
Anything packs/numbers in particular you'd like to see?
Cheers,
Rob
Photobucket has been messing things up quite a bit! Apparently I have to pay them from now on to be able to post pictures on sites like this forum. I find that somewhat ridiculous...
Does anybody know about other options for posting pictures here?
Cheers,
Rob

Yeah, we've lost a ton of ours as well, loads of Forum stuff that we'd hosted on there. I'm not paying them £300 or whatever it is to link some pictures...
Other options would be another hosting site like Flickr or Imgur, a blog if you've got one or a Facebook page?
Google Photos is another option, lots of storage space for free. Links directly with blogspot blogs, also has an app for easy uploading from phones.
Thanks chaps!
I have a Facebook page so maybe that's the easiest way to go then. Will give it a try and see what happens.
Maybe it's possible to replace the lost Photobucket pics when I put the same ones on FB?
Cheers,
Rob

Let's see if this works with a picture from my Facebook page... some British staff and Heliograph teams. The mounted officers are from different sets; I'll look 'em up as soon as I'm sure this works...
Cheers,
Rob
Lovely stuff ace!
What size bases did you use for the inf, cav and artillery please
Superb stuff. They show just how good 10mm figures can be.
Phil
What on earth is the mounted figure at the back wearing on his head?

Slouch hat with brim turned up on the left side?
Mollinary
It was the badge/headband and angle of photo that made it look like a little Chinese pointed hat with upturned brim.
Sorry, wrong reply... see next comment.

Hi there Daz, thanks for the compliments!
I base my infantry standard on 2cm x 2cm bases for 'formed Foot' and 3cm x 3cm for 'skirmishing Foot' like the Rifle Brigade and such; all 4 figures each. Artillery (including Pom-poms) is standard based on 3xm x 3cm bases with an exception for the heavy Naval Artillery; I kept the 3cm frontage but deepened the base because of the size of the gun. Cavalry 'mounted' is three figures on a 3cm x 3cm base and for mounted Infantry I put two figures on a 2cm x 2cm base. Dismounted they all go 2cm x 2cm bases but with 2 figures only to show they're skirmishing. Fot staff officers, heliograh teams, horse holders, messengers etc. I use hexagonal bases. Sizes don't matter there; it's just to show they're no ordinary troops...
Figures were based to play 'Battles for Empire' by Chris Leach.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Rob

Indeed the slouch hat with upturned brim. I çonverted' some with some green stuff plumes attached to the hat to create the South African Light Horse. Lovely figures this whole range!
Cheers,
Rob
great!!
Judging by the brill Camel Corps I think Jesus is really getting into British colonials.
I'll forgive him for doing the Sudan... he'll come round... sooner or later! ;)

Please post more pictures Ace of Spades - do you have any of the Boers.
Hi Kaspar,
I only have the '3 Boers in trench' BW40; my friend has the other Boer stuff but we don't have many pictures of these I fear. I will take a picture of the ones in the trench though.
The officers in the earlier pictures are the 'field officers' (BW19) with sabres; and the 'general' (BW20) is the one with the binoculars; Heliograph teams (BW25) speak for themselves. The figure riding in the rear with slouch hat is from the 'Mounted Yeomanry' set BW18.
I'll try to take some more pictures a.s.a.p.!
Cheers,
Rob
