I will uploading a long post on Christmas Morning, and running a scenario that compares two sets of rules.
I have the games on the table now and hope to have everything ready by Christmas Eve.
There is a brief outline and video trailer on my blog.

Catchy little tune. :)
Just got a copy of Black Powder to evaluate for 1745 and Battalion level Napoleonics (plan to ressurect my very old 20mm army) so will definitely take a gander.
Looking forward to it!
Will you be using reduced ranges for black powder? Or count inches as centimeters like your black powder game you played on the pinboard?
I will have to convert to centimeters. Converting to half inches intitially looked best, as this would reduce infantry to a six inch move, which matches One Hour wargames, but then you have the issue of potential multiple moves per turn (or none!) in BP, so going to centimeters dampens that effect down a tad.
You do know that 2/3rds and half scale Quick Reference Sheets are available for Black Powder? Because I only have 15mm and 10mm armies, I use these all the time. :)

They have a 12 inch move in black powder? so if they roll well they can move 36"? No wonder they say it's a game for big tables!! (i don't have black powder)
The chances of me getting to view anything Xmas morning are slim, let alone actually play!
Good luck :)
Thanks for the tip on the conversion QRS.
yep. big movements for black powder (or none if you fail your command!!!). But conversion to centimetres makes it fine on a smaller table, plus terrain and defensive positions usually control some movement.
I played the One Hour Wargame today and did the video recording. So far the blog post is at around 5000 words and I have done the video clips for the battlefield, figure scales, Order of Battle, the rulebooks and I am just uploading the OHW AAR now.
I just need to get the Black Powder game played, recorded and uploaded (hopefully tomorrow), then a few hours to tidy up the blog report and then on Christmas morning, take around 45 minutes to bring it all together and post .... the family are very tolerant ....... I shall treat them all to some Pendraken MDF bases, they will like that! :D

And if you blunder can't they end up going up to 36" in the opposite direction :-/
"I shall treat them all to some Pendraken MDF bases, they will like that! Cheesy"

Paul, they will general just make 1 move, though if they roll a'1' it is a double move (24") RETREAT or roll a '6' and they charge towards the nearest enemy, doing 1, 2,or 3 moves depending on a further die roll. Either way..... hopefully they stay on the table :)
It does all make for quite dynamic play and substantially helps solitaire playing as it loosens player control.
Causing a Blunder results in a further die roll to determine the nature of the blunder.
Just a reminder regarding my Christmas Day post.
I can confirm that this post will be ready for Christmas Morning. Against the usual demands of pre-Christmas activity, I have managed to get both games played and the associated videos done, plus the four supporting video clips. The post text is pretty much as I would want it, with just a few of the rough edges to be knocked off over the next day or so.
In total, the post should provide more than an hours entertainment. It is not that the post is anything special, but rather a blog recognition that there are many people for a host of reasons who might appreciate something hobby related on or over Christmas.
Looking forward to it Norm, but whether I can sneak a viewing on the day remains to be seen...
