Hi Guys,
So I am going to experiment with some large battalions. To me in the time of linear warfare I want my troops to look liner and not a compact block of stands. So I have just finished my first Prussian SYW IR9 Regiment (see attached pics) consisting of 2 battalions. Each battalion is 10 stands of infantry, plus a flag - command base, mounted officer and a base holding an attached 3pdr battalion gun. Each stand holds 8 figures in close order, so that makes a battalion about 88 figs + artillery crew. Bases are 30mm square to provide some scenic effect. Rules to be decided :) I have also done some individual figures mounted on 15mm rounds to act as disorder/casualty markers.

Looks MG good.
A couple more shots from the other side.
With units that size you might get away with using the Honours of War 28mm QRS, but even that is only designed for 200mm frontage.
Well done Jasper !
:-bd
We now want to see them in action ! ;)
Mighty impressive looking unit 8)
Very very nice. This is why I love 10mm. Small enough for a mass effect, big enough for a cracking paid to job.
That's really looking sweet!
Its very beatiful!!!!!! :) :) :)

Impressive, I hope you have a BIG table ;)
Indeed! :D
Terrific looking unit, Jasper! :-bd
Cracking work.
You really are going to need a big table to play with units with that much frontage! It does show just how distorted the footprint of most of our Wargames units are.
Absolutely brilliant. Definitely I'm liking those two units.
Looking good
Thanks for all the positive comments guys.
Snap of my nearly finished first Prussian Cuirassier units.
Very nice indeed.
Very spiffy, Jasper. Like the basing and the use of oval bases for the mounted officers.
Lovely stuff. I agree, I like the basing as well. All the green really helps to provide contrast to the colors of the troops and horses. :-bd

Splendid Cuirassiers!
