Title: Picture source:Finnish army
Post by: Aksu on 11 December 2016, 04:09:28 PM
Hullo,
Just in case you want to model some Finnish (or Soviet) stuff, you might find the Finnish army picture library useful. The English front page is at http://sa-kuva.fi/webneologineng.html (http://sa-kuva.fi/webneologineng.html)
There are around 160.000 images there. Searchable by period and Finnish keyword.
Cheers,
Aksu

And by the way, if you can read Finnish, the picture captions are hair raisingly politically incorrect from today's point of view, being the original war time descriptions.

I've just dipped in and there's some good stuff there. The Blenheim and the Morane-Saulnier are making me want to create a Finnish air force.

I keep resisting the Winter War, mainly because of the terrain but ...

I'm weakening.

Just used Google Translate to translate some of the caption.

"Gravel road maintenance will be repair of Karma near the pond."

That's pretty racy!
