To the esteemed personage known on these forum pages as Bodvoc,
I hereby submit my application to challenge you in a painting duel.
My suggestions for formal categories are:-
ACW
or
Fantasy (I can let you have some if you've none spare)
As I offered choice of category, you may choose the figure size ;D
I humbly suggest an easy submission guide - It being anything or everything, as large or small in quantity as we, individually, choose.
This being a friendly side-competition between ourselves, the timing coinciding with the 2017 edition of the Pendraken Painting Competition. Any submissions, in this our own challenge, being still eligible to entry in the proper competition (so, therefor, being governed by that competition's entry rules), and our own painting challenge being offered up for judging by the members of the forum through Public Vote.
- PS. Shall we see if we can talk Stig Kelly into taking part, then all three members of The Old Guard Wargames Group represented on the Forum are involved?
I require your acceptance (or decline) of this challenge, sir, post-haste!
Roy ;)
Impressive use of HTML code
Sorry to say, but at this point I'm not sure if we'll be having a 2017 Painting Comp... :( With it being our 25th Anniversary year we've got some other things planned, so we were going to give the painting competition a year off and run it again in 2018. It also gives me chance to find some new prize sponsors, as I've exhausted most avenues already!
@Leon: =O =O =O =O =O =D>
@Merion: drat, no rematch again!
So no chance to be humiliated again this year? Dang! :D
Fair enough. :)
Challenge, if accepted, can be placed for 'judgement by our equals' as and when the painting is completed by all parties.
Its only a bit of fun.
Sounds like fun, lets do both. Best 10mm Warband base and Best 10mm ACW regiment.
Ive got loads of fantasy to paint and will be getting some ACW soon, all figs to be Pendraken.

all figs to be Pendraken.
That goes without saying, I reckon. ;)

What sized base for the Warband entry - Official size; 100x50?
Obviously mine will be Samurai Apes, 'cos they're the bestest!

Yup, proper sized Warband bases, I will probably do Elves cos they are the best of course! :) Unless Pendraken do popcorn eating rabbits?
In the Zoo.......?

That's much more frightening than
popcorn-eating rabbits! Your version might decide to eat the kids as well, if the rabbits weren't tasty enough....
Looking forward to seeing what plans you have for the 25th Anniversary year :).

#:-S It'll give me a whole extra 12 months to not paint those dark age civilians ;)
Well, this working with 10mm ACW is allowing me to paint up some stuff I bought at York show last February ... and other stuff during the Summer of 2015.
And if I paint some Warband mini's, I only bought them in March so getting them so soon onto the painting table is quite the achievement for me! :D
Though I've still got some WW2 to paint that I bought back in 2006-ish. But none of the Pendraken stuff I bought in '98-ish, as they got binned when I gave up on them (I was 16 at the time, and had little patience - or the sense to not throw stuff away!).
