Historically the Germans consisted of a mix of 21st Pz Div troops and elements of the newly arrived Hitlerjugend Div. On D-Day +1 the British had already started to dig in after being repulsed around Lebisey on D-Day IIRC. Of note is one account of where each Company had an attached FAO, so you can imagine the amount of firepower that the British could bring to bear. Trouble is it wouldn't make for a very interesting game...
