flodden scots half and half

I think your post is very intelligent (a Mod will have to decide if it is OK  :))
Sorry that you are struggling with your eyesight. I guess each of use have to take rational decisions from time to time.
I have had similar misgivings about being too wide ranging (and having not been in the hobby for a large portion of my life
finding it hard to catch up). The reading and research alone is overwhelming.

Good luck!

How bad is your eyesight?

I used to wear very strong varifocals for driving and work. These needed replacing every 18 months costing around £400.

I retired in 2009 and the first thing I did was to get a consultancy on my eyesight which led me to having them laser adjusted. Cost me £1000.

I now have 20:20+ distance vision and only wear cheap reading glasses to read and paint.

I am painting as well as I ever did. I'm 66.

Go get checked.

What sort of bases are you struggling to find?

My mum, in her late 70s, recently had cataract surgery. She says she couldn't work out what she'd been worried about.

I remember concentrating on one period (ACW) between 1966 and 1969, then I discovered Crimean War figures (Minifigs 25mm, sold on decades ago).
