Hello there. I have returned to wargaming this year after 20 years away. I have been lurking on this forum for some time and thought it about time I said hello and thanks for the inspiration. I'm loving the pendraken vibe and been putting together some small 100year war armies for loin rampart in 10mm. As soon as I work out how I'll post some pic. Hope your well and wish u all the best
Regards rawarrior
A very warm welcome to the madhouse forum, R.A.
If you've been having a good 'lurk'....You should have a good idea of what you're letting yourself in for.
Enjoy !
(Look forward to some piccies.....We like photo's.)
Cheers - Phil
Hi RAwarrior,
welcome to the forum, as a lurker you'll know what you are letting yourself in for!
Several of us are happy to talk people through the arcane process of posting pictures here. It's actually quite simple once you get your head around it ... honest :)
Cheers
Welcome to the forum RA, and back to wargaming (your absence must have caused the dimunition in the force that some of the Learned said they felt low these twenty years)
Let's see - the Old Forest is just east of Buckland, but the New Forest....?
Are you a Lancastrian or a sniveling traitor?

Loin rampart :o
Must be all the fresh air in the New Forest
Welcome to the forum

Afternoon, Mr Warrior.
Yes, it's a bizarre mix in the Pendraken Forum - sort of a mix of Monty Python and Simon Schama.
Just one question - "small" armies? How small is small, and then "ha!" :D
I have finished off my WWII French army every year for the past three years.
It is now a reinforced-reinforced-super company. :D
Thanks for the warm welcome :). Ofc I ment lion rampart, u may have to forgive my spelling from time to time ;)
Fsn, I'm looking to start a new project but I know I'll be adding more to 100year war stuff before long.
Welcome to the Forum
Loin Rampant -From experience I know that can get you in lots of trouble :d
Be aware that FSN has a strange perception if size. Actually to be fair he has a stranger perception of most things. :-\

That's how it starts. ;D
Plenty to choose from. Lots of new things promised as well. I'm looking forward to the T35, and we're promised some modern infantry soon (though what that means is anyone's guess - well actually Leon, the Dark Lord, knows, but keeps a stern silence - his dark brows pulled low over his gimlet eyes, his strangely sensuous lips pressed close together, his pale, almost girlish hands roving over his ...) I'm holding out for the Korean War, but the Arab-Israeli wars may be a good bet.
But not before the Aztecs surely! :)
Welcome, RA. I used to like a good lurk too. Then I joined the forum. I miss that.
btw: Anywhere near Buckler's Hard?
Hey there Westmarcher. Buckler`s hard is 25 min drive
Same for me :)
................... plus another 7 hours! :(
Was curious coz I stopped by one day during a holiday* to the New Forest many years ago - charming little place with an interesting origin.
Cheers!
* that's a vacation to you, d-guy. (and, anyway, what's wrong with a car having a hat?) :P
Definitely going to be Loin Rampant from now on! Welcome and gird 'em up. PS - retired teacher; I don't forgive spelling!
Hi RA, welcome to the Forum!

Pah!
They are to be lumped with Warband. They are as mass produced lager* is to proper beer! As that Bourne wretch with his addled brain is to James Bond!** They are as UEs are to Char B1's!
* Most lagers are like making love in a boat. F***ing close to water.
**In books not films where poor Bond has been poorly serves these past 30 years.
Sorry FK.
Sorry Warbanders.
Bourne over Bond any day. At least with lager you know what you're getting; some real ales can surprise you with their truly awfulness. All tanks are crap!

Yes with 90% of lagers you do......Fizzy P*ss water.
However you can get surprised occasionally , but I would rather take my chance with a real ale

FSN firing RPG's again and not correcting for windage.
Hi, I'm a real man. You can tell this because I drink real ale, even though it tastes fouler than warthog piss. I grimace and bear it because I am a real man. I drink copious amounts of this vile concoction, and then become bad tempered and argumentative; but I am a real man, and despite it's disgusting flavour I continue to pour it down my gullet. Eventually, as it is so disgusting, I throw it all back up (along with the carrots I don't remember eating). But I'm a real man, so the next day I go back for even more, and brag to my mates how much of this vileness I can stomach. Eventually, over the years, I become fat, red-faced unwell and a bloody burden to the NHS, but I've proved I'm a real man.
;D DP, your post could be titled, "d_guy, the early years"
Wotcha from me in Kent, and I actually like real ale but not the yellow fizzy European p*ss. I also like wine -all colours but prefer red, vodka -Polish preferably- and some Belgian beers. Can't stand the smell of, let alone the taste of gin, don't drink whisky or brandy after ridiculous youthful drinking frolics. In between drinking I do some painting, a little wargaming and a bit of writing.

Well I love fizzy European piss, continental architecture, the greater sense of family on the mainland and the fact that someone had the foresight to build a tunnel there. Yes, I should have been born in France and christened Andre, mais, c'est la vie.
How did we get from "Hello RAwarrior" to discussions on Aztecs and alcohol? Oh wait, this is the Pendraken forum .... what AM I thinking? :)
Well, we did say at the outset that as a lurker he would know what to expect.
Welcome to the PD forum in all it's glorious lunacy, RA :D
Welcome!

Patience young padawan.........My missions with the Aztecs, and the armies of Warband will soon be done.......And then...... ;)

Many decades ago, before the PR crew cottoned on, Bird's Eye had a delicious range of cod pieces. Blackadder would have been proud.
Stop it, Andy ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Moaning. I should point out that that is exactly what FSN (Nobby), and FK do about Centurions and Aztecs respectively.
NO MEZO_AMERICANS.

Not long come back from a long weekend in Flanders, went to Ypres and stayed near Wormhauldt -along the line of the 1940 Dunkirk retreat. The people were extremely pleasant and very accommodating when I tried to remember schoolboy French. Love the local food, especially the chesses and wines -one we bought for 1.49 (Euro) would cost nearly £19 a bottle over here...couldn't get me hat on as they say. Came back with a much healthier outlook on food, general life and a boot full of wine.
Still don't like lager or Stella (an over-indulgence when I was younger has soured me ever since) but Leffe is rather flavoursome if a little potent.

As I said some lagers - mainly the European ones are ok, some are very nice. I like Amstel and while in Holland a couple of years ago with other real ale drinkers of the Tring Club we had a pint Heiniken that tasted completely different to the crap by that name we get over here.
I confess to never ever - even in my youth getting so drunk I threw up. I now imbibe on a fairly restrained basis, but Ale is my first choice over here.

I've done that......I was 'laid up' for two/three days.

particularly painful memory. :-& :-& :-& :-&)

I started drinking in pubs at 15, by the time I got to 16 and working for a well known Telephone Company I could easily do the standard lunch of 4 pints in an hour. Consequently I used to have a high tolerance for alchohol.

Not even a pun as bad as that justifies the complete waste of time making these mythological figures. Anyway aren't they descended from some Welsh monks ?
IanS ;)
I think you're a bit too far North, Ian. ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil
I often wish he were about a thousand miles further north.
How long does it take to do one range in pyjamas and feathers? (Not even a slumber party - which would have been more interesting. Code SLU01 Advancing with pillow. )
Then what? How many more warbands are needed? Dark elves, light elves, tanned elves? Fishmen, lizardmen, apemen, menmen? (There's a sequence there somewhere.) Samurai Pizza Cats? Undead! Not even a Fenella Fielding vampire. (USA: Think Vampirella.)
There are some nice Egyptian ugly vehicles that need support and, dare I say it the Sho't?
C'mon man! I need a fix!

It's not just the feathers and pajamas - it is the selection of weapons - and strange gods.
Vampirella too hot for Fenella, Vampira just right!
Welsh Monks!? Close Ian, Day-trippers from Glasgow.

Not much slumber if you party with the right person :d
Or is that the wrong person if you are not supposed to be partying with them in the first place :-\
Well You get my drift !
