Well done Dave
A double Major eh ;) :D?
Major Mistake
Congratulations Major. You accomplished this by the slow and stately progression of short, witty posts, rejecting the fast track (as I have chosen) of becoming a fountain of babble. Well done.
Never said it was quality of speed that got me anywhere ;)
Congratulations Major Fielder.
You can officially stop working for a living now you're a Sir.....
Keep him away from maps ;D
Congratulations - a real major at last! :D
Do you ever look back with nostalgia to your Corporal Punishment days?
Congratulations on this major achievement!
Congratulations Major =D> =D> =D>
Thanks you for your service
I have one question WTF does the second part of this mean "Major Fielder recently returned from Baghdad, Iraq, where he was the
LNO to a Maritime Component, representing a NAVCENT Bahrain based UK Naval One Star to the U.S. Forces-Iraq in the J3 lane of the Joint Operations Center. "
:-/ :-/ :-/
Congratulations Dave. Have one on him.

LNO - he was a Liaison Officer ... or he's the Latvian National Orchestra .... take your pick.
NAVCENT - United States Naval Forces Central Command
UK Naval One Star - A Royal Navy Commodore
J3 - Current Operations
Simples :)
Because, of course, we are oh sooo familiar with those terms!! >:(

Isn't everyone? ;)
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
LNO - Leicester Naturism Office
NAVCENT - Naturist and Vegan Centre
UK Naval One Star - Type of Belly Button
J3 Lane - a place where naturist vegans congregate for Joss, Jiggling and Juices
I'm sure we've only just gone down this route - oh, hang on. That was anagrams.
LNO - London natives objectionable
NAVCENT - currency used by fleets in the Eurozone
UK Naval One Star - next to lowest rank in the galley
J3 Lane - Postal shorthand for Jasmine, Juniper and Jojoba Lanes in East Kilbride, which meet at a triple junction near the football ground.

I had guessed most of that ;D
The bits that I found particularly confusing were the N in LNO and the lane :-/
Interesting that the USN doesn't appear to have the rank of Commodore, instead splitting Read Admirals into two halves :-\

Splitting the rear into two halves was strangely evocative! :D
Incidently I think we do still use Commodore as the curtesy title for the senior captain present, but could be wrong.
