Very nice, I like the touch of heather on the bases.

That's the one, I vaguely recall your comments about them at the time ;)
Hey, they worked! ;D
They did indeed, Will !
They were absolutely fine. :)

And I never said I could draw! ;)
I've said it before.
You should see some of the 'concept art' =O =O =O =O drawn by other folk, that I've worked from before.
Compared to those, Will....Yours were of a Da Vinci standard.
If I 'copy' a photo from 'the net', as a line drawing......My efforts are complete and utter crud.....But I understand them. ;D ;D ;D

Interesting news on the beeb this morning.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-37798080
Just as I assemble another nine bases of spears!
Well I could make out the cross, which appeared to be winged, and also what looked like a sardine can opener, but the dragon has eluded me.
I'm struggling, too! Reminds me of some sculpts of miniatures where you can't figure out what you are supposed to paint. Also, it doesn't help that someone put the idea of a can opener in my head! >:( :P
Nice Picts, by the way, Lemmey! :-bd

Erm...
9 units of 60 or 70 figures, two cavalry units of 12, 33 bases of four archer, 4 generals with 5-8 figures on, camp with 30 followed and animals...
Exact count later!
Unit sizes are 73, 24, 24, 30, 75, 36, 78, 48, 7, 48, 24, 77, 73, 5, 86, 6, 67, 24...
805 figures, and a dog, and Keira who was already painted, camp(about 30 figures and Saxon elites (70 odd figures) on their way to finish off.

Impressive stuff.

Two whole weeks ;)
Very impressive! The Blue Man Group flag is in a class by itself! :-bd
Very Nice!
:-bd m/ :-bd
The painting is great. Very impressive stuff.
However the pedant in me feels obliged to point out that at this period Scots had tòiseach not thegns and that Malcolm III is Canmore (from ceann mor, Great Chief) rather than Cranmore.
Scots thanes came in to being thanks to David I, Malcolm's youngest son.

Terrific, Will. :-bd

An impressive army. It looks to be an interesting mix of figures?
Those units look superb.
I have, after much soul searching (no I could not find mine either), decided that I really should stretch my Pictish spearmen a whole 1000 years. 300ish to 1300 ish, so really stretching the whole Pict-morph-thing now. So 10mm to replace the fallen over the winter, this will be fun
This means a restart and finish with my Scots army back where I started with them for DBM, a successful army, but before MeG came out I had not touched them in 10 years, then I sold my 15mm version of them in 2014 (and then were instantly stolen from my late friend's car). :'(
So, back to the 1300s version.
1315 to be exact.
Medieval spears ordered from Leon are are now waiting to go, in the meantime, teh worst wargaming sin, painting the general before the army!
Mounted version, wonder where Footsore got the idea for this pose from!

Hopefully our Scottish members will forgive my poor free-hand heraldry on him. Think I might go back and black outline the lions and reins

28mm foot version from Footsore, loved the animation, and he will make a suitable 'Legandary general' with 10mm troops I feel! :d
