What ho Hive Mind!
With the Later Romans done, and Picts well underway, what should I use to add a camp to their armies? Was thinking the ridge pole tents for Romans, anyone know where I might find a suitable ditch and palisade?
As for the Picts, camp fires, sheep, cows, any other suggestions?
There's apple boxes in the fantasy range, which could be painted up as tomatoes, spuds etc?
Nice one Nosher! :)
Also remembered someone mentioned this:

Hmmm, a camp suggestion...well, I'd say just the teeniest hint of green in the cloth, darlings, and then use a contrasting olive and eau de nil flocking on your bases; and there are some simply ravishing recreations of military marches from the era that you can play while all those so-macho Romans go up against those butch barbarians....
;D

I've made my own. Tedious but the results are acceptable.
Camp followers, supply waggons, priests, food animals on the hoof
the boxes and sacks in the Pendraken German WWII range could be repurposed.

Thanks chap. :)
Hovels do a Roman marching camp designed for 15mm figures but a friend had some of their pieces and based 10mm figures just peered over the top of it so might be worth a look?

Baggage Train do Roman camps in various scales - Their 10mm scale Sub-Roman camp might do or the 6mm camp (Wendy House alert! :) )

Pink, tight T-shirt, hint of eyeshadow and manscara, and a slight swing of the hips when walking. Doubtless FK will now be gunning for me, but it has been a fascinating morning down in Liverpool - first stop was a coffee shop where the rather attractive counter assistant had evidently not yet completed the gender reassignment, then into a gift shop opposite where the salesman made Larry Grayson seem as straight as a die. Mind you, he did have great conversation.
for various animals to add, check irregular: (go to 10mm scenics)

Thanks all
Course you could make the Roman one for your self. As Steve isn't a member I can well recommend the Baggage Train stuff.

I'm not sure he really can :-\
You wouldn't believe some of my students. The crossdresser is a common and largely accepted type here; since they're often in mid gender change, it can be a problem working out how to address them politely. Fortunately, there's a much more relaxed attitude all round, so little danger of offending people.

Ohhhh yes I would ;)
Remember I have spent quite a bit of time in the Philippines :)
And one of my grooms-men wore a purple and gold dress so he wasn't confused with the bridesmaids who wore gold and purple ;)
It's a funny old world - thank goodness!
Amen!

8-} Hallooooo!
I went to an Open University Summer School many years ago, and we saw two cross-dressers/TVs (Eddie Izzard was in his ascendancy then). Very pleasant cheerful chaps they were too. We spoke to one of the student reps asking if it was common, and he said, yes, the three of them had been before.
..three?
We spent the rest of the week trying to figure out who the third was...
Should I just have a Scottish-Polari dictionary on the base too?

Another anecdote - at a LARP weekend, while guarding the gate at the faction camp, I was approached by two players (just having a bit of random character play fun) calling themselves Julian & Sandy... After about 10 minutes, we had about 10 utterly confused spactators as we (the only 3 who knew what the hell we were on about) attempted to converse, in character, in Polari...
Lovely boys.
