I started my Seven Year war project a few weeks ago and the first batch are now painted and you can see pictures on my blog

Also there is my 15mm project, which I will probably sell on now as I prefer 10mm far more!
Very tasty work, Bunny !! 8)
Cheers - Phil
Glad I'm not the only one putting SYW forces together. :)
Great work Bunny
Some really good work. Nice to see you have put together some
Reichsarmee Battalions despite the online mockery ! How boring
woul it be if we all just picked Prussians and Austrians ? They also
have some nice uniforms and flags...
The Pendaken SYW figures are some of the best in their range
and have certainly inspired me to paint a few Battalions up.
My Prussians are nearly finished - then it'll be on to another army
which attracts its fair share of derision at this time - the French.
Well done,
Phil
Very good job, Bunny. :-bd

Great progress too!*
*took me years to paint 20 infantry battalions, 15 cavalry regiments, 9 guns & limbers, 11 staff officers, sappers, supply wagons .... and mainly all Prussians and Austrians! (:|
They are looking really good, Some lovely work on cavalry flags.
"...and mainly all Prussians and Austrians! Yawn"
:D I am just as 'guilty' - my first army is Prussian...
In my defence, however, I have added a Hanoverian brigade for some
extra colour. I've used British SYW figures for this and was completely
blown away by the flute player included with the Grenadiers command !
Seriously, this has to be one of the best Pendraken figures I've seen.
Phil
Eastern theatre Russians, Prussians and Austrians - best way to go. Above is a bit like saying:
ACW and you've gone for Union and Confederate instead of the possibility of British involvement from Canada! What on earth are you playing at?
If it's how you want to game SYW, then do so and ignore the obscurantist snob.
Nice work Bunny. I like the seriously grassy stands.
Thanks Guys,
Progress is continuing and I am thinking about an opposing force....i have some Russians, a few Prussians and some AWI British/Allies...(all unpainted)...so was thinking of a Imagi-nation force, a Confederation of Minor States, to fight the Evil Empire (Hapsburg Austria and it's Reichsarmee puppets!).
Thoughts?
Nah, do SYW. Fantasy in tricornes is for seriously defective intellects.

Nice one. I love the horse.

I will be using boih Black Powder and Honours of War
Yep, used them both and had enjoyable games with both, but if I was sent to a desert island with a limit on the rules I could take, then it would be Honours of War in my trunk.
Yes we've used Honours of War a few times and they give good games. Good enough to encourage me to dig out and finish my British "Glorious Reinforcement" army. Sadly for Pendraken (as I needed more figures) it's 15mm.
Will have to dig out the St Cast scenario I wrote many years ago and update it for the rules. It was a battle in Brittany with a British raiding force attempting to re embark as the French attacked them. One big challenge though is to find my dismounted Marbeuf Dragoons, who played a key role. In the loft somewhere...
I'm sure that appeared in one of the mags several years back.
