The amazing Mrs Lemmey has finally decided to attempt one of her beautiful restoration projects on her aunts sewing table.
Varnish stripped, new paint applied.
However, I am now banned from entering the garage until it is dry. She can't understand I need these units by Thursday ;)
Just when I've got six units of Romans I want to sand and pva tonight sitting onto of my spraying booth (cardboard box)!
Oh well, suppose I'd better finish the Poles basing, the Picts war paint, assemble the next two Pictish units, and plot world domination instead!
Is the seeing table something one stands on to see on top of bookcases and stuff?
State of sieve?...Is is Holy War involving the Holy See?
HUH !! :-\
Cheers - Phil
Typos fixed! Looks like my phone is siding with the Mrs! :'( #bloodyautocorrectthinksitssodamnedsmart!
I think, like Phil, the seeing table could no longer be seen, so the next two posts made no sense, sew there!
So! We've been sowing confusion?
Since it's a sewing table, I think he meant a state of serge.
;D
When it was a seeing table, I wondered whether it was used in some sort of scrying.
I liked the idea of being under sieve.......I thought that was a good method of keeping mozzies out of the garage.
=) If your auto correct thinks it should be sEIige, Will......I think it's time you got a new phone. ;)
Cheers - Phil. (I'm under (a) beige (sweatshirt.) :D

Sarge Denham? That was my Grandfathers rank!
I'm finding this a bit of a strain. :-S

Why? Do you think someone might get the needle? :)
Stick to the thread!
...and as the last light fades from the western sky, so ends a typical day on the Pendraken forums.
All in all it was quite a yarn.
Let's just hope no cruel fate will cut it short.
Take Mrs Lemmeys shoes as hostages
Sew.....What shall we talk about now ?
Cheers - Phil

Well if you can't think of something, needle can i.
We'll have to pin it on Peter.

Don't thread on me!
This one seems to have warped into a weft round the galaxy.
IanS
Where's one of Nobby's yarns, when you need it ?
Cheers - Phil
It's looming.
Hopefully to be sewn up soon.
IanS
That had me in stitches..... knot!
Yeah. Must be the near the end of the thread.
Wait! Wait, I think I have another ....... no .. :-\ ... no .... its varnished.
[Damn! That's not right. Lemmey said, "Varnish stripped, new paint applied." D'oh]
The cotton has unreelled on this one.
IanS
I want to be weft alone now! You lot are warped! Weave me alone! :'(
Lemmeys bobbin and weaving......
I think the Singer is now singing a rather repetitive song.
She stripped the seeing table
To see what she could scry
She painted it and varnished it
And left it there to dry.
You shall not pass, you silly ass!
You shall not enter here,
Alas, forsooth, no spraying booth
Today for you, my dear.
A pox upon your deadline!
Leave those bases derelict!
My table will just be fine,
Go paint some Pole or Pict!
The moral of this little tale,
A lesson learned in life,
It's not overly uxorious
To listen to your wife.
:) :) :) :)
Perhaps we should treadle on on this one.
IanS
That is brilliant Mike! Mrs Lemmey loved it! =O =O =O =D> =D> =D> (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)
;D ;D brilliant!, Ithoriel!
You knitted all up well - hopefully fsn will accept the challenge :)
Excellent, Mike ! =D> =D> =D>

Works particularly well if in verse three you read it as
tay-bull rather than the more usual taybl.

Well ... b****r! When composing it in my head I'd had the line as "My table it will be just fine."
Clearly a temporary disconnect between brain and typing fingers!
You're right Leman, it doesn't scan well as posted. Ah well, even Shakespeare tweaked his work over time :)

Particularly if you diphthong the "a" like I do :)
Were you Australian you'd probably billabong it.
Waltzing Ma'-table!
The Seige is lifted! Varnished about a months worth of painting!!!
Hurrah! <:-P <:-P =D>

I trust you varnished everything on the seeing table, to get your own back. ;)

Me thinks seeing the table wouldn't be a problem

However, the results are amazing!

So I will let her off! ;D
Looks like a very good job there, Lemmey. :-bd
She does do commissions...
Looks like a total makeover to me.
Where are the wheelie bins ?
Who replaced the small patio tiles with carpet ?
Cheers - Phil
No wonder I couldn't get in the garage!!!
Given the dramatic changes she wrought on a mere sewing table, when is she scheduling your make-over?
;D ;D
