Title: The greatest stunt ever ?
Post by: Techno on 01 August 2016, 07:05:03 AM
Or was Luke Aikins as mad as a box of frogs ?

I really can't decide whether to admire this 25,000 foot freefall 'dive' into a net.....Or shake my head in disbelief.  :o
I guess he'd done every conceivable test and worked out his chance of success. But................
Your opinions, team ?

Cheers - Phil

Nutcase - he didn't even hit the middle of that net.

Once you work out how big and how high the net needs to be to stop someone at terminal velocity (hopefully with a nice, big, safety margin), he was always going to be safe!

If he missed the net he wouldn't need a funeral as he'd be 6 feet under already.

I noticed afterwards he was standing next to a woman and child. If that was his family then he is really one selfish bar steward.

I do think that there must be a point at which we stop admiring these people and start saying "no. That's silly."

Oh come on now, which one of us with children hasn't wanted to jump out of a plane with no parachute at some point or another?!  O:-)

My total lack of a head for heights sorts that problem for me. Also, I have never flown with my family.
