Title: Background Battle Sounds
Post by: Westmarcher on 21 July 2016, 10:01:42 PM
I fancy trying one of these when playing my next Horse & Musket game. I haven't listened to these in their entirety (I'm not that crazy) but, apart from the odd advert at the start, they seem to be quite good. There are loads more out there. Does anyone else play these or ones like them during games?

If I can find contemporary and relevant songs or marches I often play them in the background.

Good stuff, d-guy. I also liked that actor in Blind Date.

Btw I appear to have messed up with the Vietnam link. Although I'm sure it would not have been too hard finding it, here is the link again.

I remember playing a massive F&F battle of Gettysburg to
on repeat. It made for quite a long day, albeit a successful one.

I sometimes listen to period music while painting. I have English Folk, Nap French, Nap German/Ausitrian, WW II German and WW II Russian as well as Mongolian throat music which can be quite inspirational.

Play lots of period or folk music when I paint also - The Corries, Planxty, and The Chieftains predominate.

Westie - I have never seen Blind Date, will now have to watch to get your reference  :)

Well, strangely, I tend to go for dance and electronica when I paint. Can't abide dirge-like folk music.

Say what you like, it's a valuable prophylaxis against intelligence.

Bit short that list so I have...Rammstein, Blind Guardian, Gloryhammer, Fleetwood Mac, Moody Blues, Mike Oldfield, Rick Wakeman, Iron Maiden, Kraftwerk, Saor Patrol, Bonzo Dog Doodah Band,Pink Floyd and even Beethoven all taking their turn. I have found I can't write music on but can paint little chaps.
