Another belter of a game with Baroque which captures the essence of Renaissance gaming beautifully.

Swede's and Catholics mix it up over a bad batch of Reisling.

Great looking battle. :-bd
Excellent
Great looking report sir!
Very disappointed there isn't a Bad Moon Reisling (that I can find)!
Good stuff. I'm starting to get my head around Baroque, so it's great to see a 10mm battle report.
It looks like you are using 12cm frontages for units, with an extra stand of pike to give some more depth?
The Tercios look impressively big!
Very impressive.
I may have just spent money I don't have on rules I don't need.
Thanks, Nosher :P
Actually, slightly annoyingly Nik H's 2mm Renaissance I was eyeing up have just been baggsied as well!
Yep. 12cm frontage. For the Swedes 3 deep Pike with flanks of two deep shot.
The tercio (later tercio) are 3 ranks of Pike with two stands of musket flanking and one rank of musket corner to corner at rear to make the unit 12cm deep.
You won't regret buying Baroque
Great stuff. Sadly my copy of Baroque is waiting for my paintbrush to sort itself out.
Great stuff, Nosher - might have to have a closer look at Baroque...

Ah - you have to be quick around here!
Yea he, I know... Shouldn't spend anything on frivolity but I now need something to play Baroque with...
Liked it, Nosher! Fitted in nicely with my current reading also. :-bd

cracking game in terms of action and visual appeal 8)
Lovely stuff,
you just need to rebase it all - for the added kerb appeal :D
Maybe mounting card cut to the rules' base size, little sand and scatter, then the figure bases popped on top...
I've had enough of rebasing this year to last me a lifetime - it will not be happening for Baroque.
I can put up with moving multiple bases around and rather helpfully FoGR bases in multiples work quite well for having units represent things late later and early tercios without too much faff and having to have twice the number of figures to represent both types.
I also get to use said figures for FoGR which still gives a decent game
Don't rebase - especially with the vary large bases for Baroque - but sabot bases work well. I am planning some for tercios, mainly just to hold the individual stands of figures together, but also to have a few figures in the gaps at the side of the pike, as I am initially going for early tercios, it might a few zweihanders?
Do you have baggage elements for Baroque, if so what have you used on them?
Cracking battle report. Makes me regret I gave away my plastic Swedes and Imperialists for TYW. Mind you I do still have napoleonic swedes in 2 scales and GNW Swedes in 15mm.

Sadly not. On my to do list but a very low priority due to funds (or more specifically the lack of them...) There's not an awful lot in 10mm that I find suitable to be fair.

Hence the idea of quick and easy sabots so you can place the existing bases on them :)

Part of my reason for asking!
there are some carts and other bits and pieces in the ECW ranges, and some of the new civilians would help.
For a Baggage element, the perimeter is 8 BU,
Frontage of a unit 12cm, so 1 BU = 6cm
So 8 x 6 = 48cm perimeter
48 / 4 = 12cm a side square
Thats a fairly big space to fill.
What kind of tents were used in the 17th C? And are any close enough to the various tents Pendraken make?
Yep. The baggage elements are huge!
A quick list of things I have found.....
Tumbrel Carts ECW Range
Wagons (SYW Range)
Pack Mules (Fantasy Range)
Camp Fire (Fantasy)
Crates of apples (which could easily be spuds) (Fantasy)
Tables with and without food (Fantasy)
Concerning the baggage for Baroque, since I base most things these days on 25mm squares (1" actually) I use sabots to create most game elements I need. I may have posted before but here is an assembled baggage train from a recent game:

I am a huge fan of Baroque (and sabots).
And again - props to Nosher for the BatRep and pics.
Fab looking game., I take my hat off to you sir 😄

Ordered the rules yesterday and looking forward to receiving them :)
Nice ideas d_guy. I like the idea of live stock and trees. I might go for 40mm bases to create the baggage, as this is becoming my standard size.
Nosher - good thinking about the Fantasy items, I often forget about these, even though I own most of them!
As I can't afford either money or painting time to do this in 10mm, I've gone for 2mm from Irregular (sorry Leon!), who has I'll end up providing all sides at the club at least means I can get it on table quick!
Now to find out if I can stretch a random army pack into two plus possibly two more...
I am sure Leon could do some sabot bases the right size like they did for Warband
