War in the Sudan 1884-1898 A Campaign Guide.
By Stuart Asquith,

Partizan Special Ediition 3, published 2007.

It is a three part book, it starts off with a chronology and overview of the developments in the Sudan, from the late 1850s and going through to the mopping up after 1898. Part 1 are aptly named "The Gordon Relief Expedition" and deals with the years 1884 and 85. Part two deals with the "Re-conquest of the Sudan" and is also named as such and part three handles "Wargaming the conflicts".

The book(let) is in the Osprey manual size and are 120 pages long, I have spent much time browsing the net while looking for the gory details of the whole gamut and found all I would ever need for a quick and easy start within the bindings of this primer as well as discussions and opinons on how to build forces for it, both on the skirmish level as well as the  large level battles. A quick and entertaining read, but also well worthy studying and pondering over while planning for getting a campaign of the ground.

Heartily recommended.
