Apparently there is to be a massive show in Bishop Aukland about the last two thousand years of British history. Well on Breakfast TV they featured the knights of the round table (history?) in bucket helms, William the conqueror in a sort of grey lycra outfit and he and his troops wearing surcoats, and vikings in remarkable leather breastplates. Clearly the organisers didn't consider a chat with re-enactors might be a good idea. Once again the great British public (and any unsuspecting foreigners) will get a weird take on British history. :'( :'( :'( :'(
