Hi all,
Wanted to get back in wargaming Vietnam (I have 20mm Britannia Models) and I friend of mine said. I will join, but why not in 10mm. So here I am.
Still a little insecure if I can paint 10mm (never gone smaller than 15mm but mostly 28mm).
Info
Name: Jasper
City: Amsterdam (Netherlands)
Wargaming: Mostly historic and pulp
Welkom!
Hi Jasper, welcome to the Forum!

Hallo Jasper, welkom op het forum! Geen zorgen, 10mm is een mooie schaal en schildert snel als je er aan gewend bent.

Wotcha Jasper from just across the Channel in the southeast of England.
With regards to painting 10mm, there are loads of examples on the forum of how people paint there figures and if you are not sure, just ask, people will be more than happy to help.

Welcome Jass.
Vietnam, excellent choice :D
Hello Jass,
I'm sure you'll be able to paint 10mm if you can paint 15mm.
Aside from Viet Nam, what do you play?
Welcome on board Jass :)

28mm or larger
SAGA (pagan rus and irish)
Dead man's hands (several gangs)
The Chicago Way (all gangs)
Muskets and tomahawks (American war of independance)
Strange Aeons (lovecraft horror)
Pulp Alley (pulp)
And I still have a lot of cygnar and mercenary models for warmachine
20mm
Vietnam
I had 28mm bolt action and 15mm flames of war but sold that again. I guess WWII is not my cup of tea.
Welcome to the forum Jass!
OK, I'll admit to not understanding a lot of that. It's not your explanation. It's my lack of knowledge.
Having said that I think a few people around here would like Pendraken to dabble in the pulp market.
Hi Jasper, welcome to the forum.
As others have said, plenty of people here both good at painting 10mm and happy to pass on advice.
Although I'm not one of the former I will say that if you are used to bigger figures you may want to use slightly lighter versions of the colours you normally use, the smaller surface areas make colours look darker.
Generally speaking, smaller figures are no more difficult to paint than bigger ones. A bit less detail, a layer or two less shading and highlighting and otherwise pretty much what you've always done.
Welcome (again.....I think ;)), Jass
Cheers - Phil
Welcome Jasper.
10mm are relatively easy to paint,. Some of the guys here manage to paint more detail than I put on my 28mms, but there is no rel need to so that as you are going for mass effect.
Welcome and hello!
Welcome Jasper, you will enjoy the challenge of painting 10mm.
Welcome Jasper, as others have said a shade lighter and a layer or two less but otherwise much the same :-h
Welcome - and good to see another Strange Aeons fan... you know you can do that in 10mm as well, right?
Go here and search for Strange Aeons and you'll find some of my stuff from a while go - including some batreps 8)

Given a good rifle and a clear shot, there's no excuse for missing anyone.

Well there is what we call "buck fever" - poor target identification and/or the sudden inability to squeeze the trigger at the appropriate time.

Try shooting mouse sized rats, which zip from one place to another every millisecond.
(I like the bigger really stupid ones, which sit upright, and carefully watch you as you take aim.)

I find Pendraken figures very forgiving of my feeble attempts.
Just don't look at the examples by some here, such as Nik - you'll just upset yourself. :'( :'(

Very few Scousers are English, there being a massive amount of Irish, Scots, Welsh and Afro-Carribean DNA in Scouseland. Ian, however, is a Tunnel Rat from the Wirral - as indeed am I (originally).
Herro! :D
Jeez! When did you sneak in, Jasper? (must have been when I was on holiday) Usually / often / sometimes, people try to escape from a lunatic asylum. Oh, well. You're in now. God help you.

I got 5 us vietnam officers to try 10mm from a friend.
Here is the first...
