Title: 54mmWargaming
Post by: Husaria on 02 June 2016, 07:26:43 PM
Hi All,

A bit of a nostalgia request...

Can anyone help with trying to track down the availability or at least details of a book/s I remember as a 10/11 year old.

From memory, I believe they were called "My First/Second Book of Wargaming". I recall the 1st having a green cover with a Britains German mortor crew and the 2nd one was red, but I can't remember the picture on the front. I regret getting rid of them as a teenager (along with loads of other games stuff) and it might be interesting to look at them again, if only for historical reasons.

If anyone remembers them or has copies, were they any good as a simple rules ? I really can't remember any of the rules mechanisms, but perhaps others can shed some light on my childhood memories. I'm sure they were written with 54mm toy soldiers in mind (or 1/32 scale ) and I had loads of these as a child to use with the books.  I played games with them and had fun, but beyond that my memories sparse on their content.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Tim
