:-bd =D> :-bd =D>
Just the basing to finish off ;)
Paulr don't worry last commander base finished :D
=D>
That unfinished commanders base lets the rest down. :D :D
I would love to be able to paint that number of 25mm figures in a month but I'd need to sleep sometime so a quarter of that lot is more likely. Lovely stuff.
Terrific looking army, I have just embarked on some 28mm Peninsula figures for Sharp Practice (big battles in 6mm). I would be interested to know which manufacturer(s) you have used.
Excellent =D> =D> :-bd
Thanks all,
appreciate the kind remarks. Oh and the last commander is finished :P
@Leman,
The figures are mainly Foundry for the battalions, cavalry, metal guns and Limber. Perry for the commanders and a few odd of the battalion command for a change of look. The Portuguese are Victrix metals for the line and Cacadores.
If you need any let me know I have tonnes left!!!!
Cheers,
Scott :-[
Really nice looking army ;)
I'm also embarking on a handful of 28's for Sharp Practice - British too.
I normally undercoat in black but am worried that that painting red over black always ends up looking somehow wrong. Did you undercoat in white, grey etc?
Coo! (in tones of admiration)
That is some achievement in a month, they look great. I am usually happy to complete a unit of 10 or 15mm in a month. Did you eat, sleep or go to work at all in January? :)

Would undercoating in black then doing a white dry brush help? Not tried it myself but have seen that approach mentioned a few times :-\

A month :o :o :o
1074 figures painted so far this year/5 months = 214.8 figures a month here!
That .8 is a killer!
For Nosher and Paulr,
In the past I have always been a black undercoat. But I found that there is a tonne change for some of the colours like yellows, orange, some blues and greens. For WW2 not a real problem. With colourful uniforms from the late 1600s to early 1900s then I have changed to grey. I use the shading to highlight now to get depth of colour. I don't wash and I don't black line, although black lining is still a very good way to help create depth and a clear separation of colours to highlight detail.
All the figures painted were grey undercoat. (note: this makes it easy when you are doing white or light grey trousers :D)
I use Tamiya surface Primer and Mr Surface 1500 or 3000. My preference is MR Surface 3000. It goes on very easily, provides a great coat and keeps the detail of the figures no matter the scale.
Cheers,
Scott
I also undercoat in grey, I tend to dry brush highlights and do wash
