Title: Trautenau 1866 - A Bloody Big Battles AAR
Post by: Steve J on 19 May 2016, 07:39:35 PM
As promised an AAR of our game played out earlier this week. As before we have taken the battle of Trautenau as a starting point, then tweaked things slightly to fit in with the time we have for a game. Hope you enjoy it as it was a cracking game to play.

Good report.

I like what I hear about BBB - but suspect its not a period that my gaming group will have much interest in.

I like the use of the turn cards in the photos, it really helps the viewer keep track of what's going on.

Thanks, Steve, enjoyed that. A couple of dice rolls can make a big difference in a small game!

As Bosquet might have said - "C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas Trautenau" - glad you enjoyed it  ;)

'C'est vrai mon ami Cameronian'. But we did enjoy ourselves :). Maybe one day we will have the time and the space to do a 'proper' game of one of these battles. Until then we will carry on with our tweaks to fit in with our limited gaming time.

Good for you, great to see anyone playing the period whether complete historical verisimilitude is observed or not  :-bd

I must admit that I prefer 1866 to 1870-1871 as the Prussians and their guns are not too powerful. Also I like being the Austrian player, even though I tend to lose most games!
